For the last several years I have worked at Zumba, helping scale platforms used by millions of people in 186 countries. - Helped migrate Zumba's consumer mobile app from native code to React Native as part of a 7-person cross-functional team, shipped to production in early 2026.
- Designed app architecture with LLM context in mind and built custom Cursor workflows for ticket-driven development and PR handling.
- Owned checkout and subscription experiences end to end, including personalized flows, pricing tests, cancellation retention, and Stripe automation.
- Migrated OAuth token storage from MongoDB to Redis with a zero-downtime transition strategy.
- Built and maintained consumer app APIs for on-demand video, profiles, scheduling, stats, reminders, and fitness data ingestion.
- Integrated Zoom and live-streaming workflows during COVID-19 to support online instructor classes, student management, and Stripe-based payouts.
- Built an automated translation system that saved roughly 40 engineering hours per week.
- Model the domain clearly. Good names and boundaries make every future change cheaper.
- Optimize for maintainers. The person debugging production later deserves empathy today.
- Ship in small, reversible steps. Big migrations are safer when the system can run old and new paths together.
- Use AI as leverage, not autopilot. The best workflows keep humans in charge of design, review, and judgment.
