Hey 👋

I'm Zach. I have been writing software for about twenty years, and leading the people who write it for half of those. Day job is an engineering team at Optum, building care management and referrals for UHG members. The rest of the time I run Kaweah Tech, the AI and software consultancy I started in 2023 to bring real engineering work to businesses in California's Central Valley.

Currently

  • Leading engineering on the Manage and Receive Care platform at Optum
  • Shipping Licentio, the first Kaweah Tech product designed to earn its own revenue
  • Advising Central Valley founders through the Valley Community SBDC

Notable things I have built or shipped

  • Open-source libraries on npm: vue-click, 1-wire-js, and a few GitHub Actions (file upload, markdown concat, Slack notifier)
  • The Keiser M3i indoor cycling bike: co-developed the broadcast Bluetooth protocol and built the iOS and Android companion apps
  • Client work at Kaweah Tech: Fertilytics, R.M. King Work Order Management, and a passion project, Signal Fire Games

Off the keyboard

Christian, husband, father. Tulare County native. Disc golf (PDGA #67447), Ultimate Frisbee, dirt bikes, board games, and the occasional side project that finds its way to GitHub.
