Anatase is a modern immutable distribution based on Fedora and Plasma. It focuses on gaming performance while maximizing stability and hardware plus application support.
For gaming, it features a gaming mode session, similar to SteamOS, and provides GPU drivers for AMD+Intel+Nvidia and a myriad of hardware/stability quirks on its up-to-date kernel. The gamemode session, available on startup as a choice, does not affect the desktop experience or lockscreen behavior. Gaming on desktop works the same as on any other distribution.
For development and flexibility, it allows installing any package from Arch, Fedora, and Ubuntu in a light sandboxed environment with no performance overhead, that protects developer credentials and user files while ensuring the system remains stable when things go wrong. When we say any package, we mean ANY package: browsers, VMs, IDEs, package managers, systemd services, and Container runtimes such as Docker. On the main image, a light optional config for zsh is provided, alongside fish/bash/tmux/screen and a container stack with buildah/podman/podman-compose, for day-to-day use that is not restrictive and works out of the box.
