I'm a general physician (M.D.) turned iOS developer based in Mexico. I combine my clinical experience with software development to build apps focused on health, wellness, and education. Currently working as an iOS Developer at HSBC. I hold a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering.
I'm passionate about creating products that feel native, use zero third-party UI dependencies, and solve real problems. Most of my apps are bilingual (English & Spanish) and follow Apple's Human Interface Guidelines with custom glassmorphism design systems.
- I hold a Medical Doctor degree and a background in clinical medicine
- I speak Spanish (native) and English fluently
- I've published 6 apps on the App Store and built 10+ iOS projects
- I love combining AI + health/wellness in my apps (Gemini, Firebase AI, Apple Intelligence)
- Every app I build ships with zero third-party UI dependencies
- I build my own design systems from scratch (glassmorphism, adaptive themes)
- My portfolio site is an interactive macOS simulator β check it out at chrisarzaluz.dev
Apple Frameworks: SwiftUI, SwiftData, CloudKit, HealthKit, MusicKit, ActivityKit, WidgetKit, WatchConnectivity, CoreHaptics, Swift Charts, AVFoundation, AuthenticationServices, Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence)
AI & APIs: Google Gemini API, Firebase AI Logic SDK, REST APIs
Architecture: MVVM, Singleton Services, Combine, async/await, @MainActor concurrency
What makes my work different is the lens I bring from medicine. Apps like BishopTest (obstetric scoring), MediLingo (medical English for doctors), and CORDIS (heart rate monitoring with HealthKit) exist because I've been on the clinical side and seen firsthand what tools are missing. I don't just build apps β I build apps that I would have wanted as a doctor.
