## Summary Extend the `PackageIndex` introduced in #21373 to exports, dependency trees, audits, and lock freshness checks. Use cached indices for dependency lookups and traversal state, and dense vectors for the export and tree graph lookups. Add a shared `Lock::package` accessor. Package IDs continue to define serialized identities, tree ordering, and comparisons between lockfiles. The following full-command medians compare #21373 at `8f0f824` with this change at `e84ad64`, before rebasing onto `main`. Measured on a quiet Linux/x86-64 devbox with optimized `profiling` builds, warm caches, one pinned CPU, and 16 samples per variant in counterbalanced blocks. Both commands used frozen, offline operation. | Project | Command | #21373 | Follow-up | Change | | ----------------------------------- | ----------------------- | -------: | --------: | -----: | | Airflow (585 lock entries) | Export requirements.txt | 48.87 ms | 48.15 ms | -1.5% | | Airflow (585 lock entries) | Universal tree | 30.24 ms | 29.46 ms | -2.6% | | Home Assistant (1,456 lock entries) | Export requirements.txt | 96.11 ms | 94.88 ms | -1.3% | | Home Assistant (1,456 lock entries) | Universal tree | 53.98 ms | 52.74 ms | -2.3% | All eight paired Airflow blocks favored this change. Home Assistant was noisier: seven of eight blocks favored this change for export, and five of eight for tree. All samples were retained. Outputs were byte-identical across every run, and lockfiles and environments were unchanged.

The executables in our macOS and Windows release archives and `uv` and `uv_build` wheels are now code-signed. macOS executables are signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple. Windows executables have timestamped Authenticode signatures from Azure Artifact Signing. This enables verification of the release publisher and binary integrity, supports publisher-based allowlisting, and should reduce security warnings and antivirus false positives. ### Bug fixes - Exclude distributions uploaded after the `exclude-newer` cutoff from lockfiles and generated requirement hashes ([#21539](astral-sh/uv#21539)) ## Install uv 0.12.12 ### Install prebuilt binaries via shell script ```sh curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -LsSf https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.12/uv-installer.sh | sh ``` ### Install prebuilt binaries via powershell script ```sh powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -c "irm https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.12/uv-installer.ps1 | iex" ``` ## Download uv 0.12.12 | File | Platform | Checksum | |--------|----------|----------| | [uv-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.12/uv-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz) | Apple Silicon macOS | [checksum](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.12/uv-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz.sha256) | | [uv-x86_64-apple-darwin.tar.gz](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.12/uv-x86_64-apple-darwin.tar.gz) | Intel macOS | [checksum](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.12/uv-x86_64-apple-darwin.tar.gz.sha256) | | [uv-aarch64-pc-windows-msvc.zip](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.12/uv-aarch64-pc-windows-msvc.zip) | ARM64 Windows | [checksum](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.12/uv-aarch64-pc-windows-msvc.zip.sha256) | | [uv-i68… (truncated) ### 0.12.13 ## Release Notes Released on 2026-09-10. ### Python - Add GraalPy 3.13.0 ([#21431](astral-sh/uv#21431)) ### Enhancements - Verify hashes when downloading PEP 658 metadata sidecars ([#21563](astral-sh/uv#21563)) ### Preview features - Respect `ty` exclusions when `uv check` automatically selects members of a virtual workspace ([#21555](astral-sh/uv#21555)) ### Performance - Avoid full wheel downloads during resolution by reusing supported hashes from direct URL fragments when metadata is available separately ([#21279](astral-sh/uv#21279)) ### Bug fixes - Edit Windows entry-point launcher resources in memory to support Nano Server and reduce antivirus contention ([#18713](astral-sh/uv#18713)) - Prefer `core-metadata` over legacy aliases in JSON index responses ([#21563](astral-sh/uv#21563)) ## Install uv 0.12.13 ### Install prebuilt binaries via shell script ```sh curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -LsSf https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.13/uv-installer.sh | sh ``` ### Install prebuilt binaries via powershell script ```sh powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -c "irm https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.13/uv-installer.ps1 | iex" ``` ## Download uv 0.12.13 | File | Platform | Checksum | |--------|----------|----------| | [uv-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.13/uv-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz) | Apple Silicon macOS | [checksum](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.13/uv-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz.sha256) | | [uv-x86_64-apple-darwin.tar.gz](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.13/uv-x86_64-apple-darwin.tar.gz) | Intel macOS | [checksum](https://releases.astral.sh/github/uv/releases/download/0.12.13/uv-x86_64-apple-darwin.tar.gz.sha256) | | [uv-aarch64-pc… (truncated) </details> </details> Modified files: - `.mise.toml` Co-authored-by: github-actions[bot] <41898282+github-actions[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>

Summary
When constructing a resolution from a lockfile, we repeatedly hash package IDs to find dependency targets and graph nodes. Cache each dependency's target index during existing lock validation, then use integer indices in traversal queues and graph lookups. The cached index is excluded from dependency equality and ordering, so identical dependencies still compare equally across lockfiles. The lockfile format is unchanged.
The following graph-conversion measurements compare this patch with
7896d580c, with parsing outside the timer. They use Linux/ext4, optimizedprofilingbuilds without LTO, Rust 1.98 (Ohm 1.98.0-2), and eight samples per variant in alternating ABBA/BAAB blocks. Canonical graph signatures matched across every sample.Graph conversion improved in every block. Including parsing, the reductions were 3.2%, 9.2%, and 4.8%, respectively. Whole no-op sync changed much less: Jupyter went from 33.86 to 32.90 ms, the 1,000-package case from 95.41 to 91.31 ms, and the 5,000-package case was effectively flat. The change adds one cached
usizeper dependency; observed process RSS was roughly unchanged.Larger-project measurements compare
7c1d80ed0with8f0f824f7on an AMD EPYC 9V74 devbox, using the same optimized profiling configuration and 16 samples per variant in eight alternating ABBA/BAAB blocks. These graph-conversion times also exclude parsing:Graph conversion improved in every block for both projects. Including parsing, the reductions were 7.5% and 5.5%, respectively; parsing alone was roughly unchanged. Whole-command
sync --frozen --offline --dry-run --no-devagainst empty virtual environments was effectively flat: 92.1 → 91.5 ms for Airflow and 208.8 → 208.2 ms for Home Assistant. These are dry-run planning measurements. Canonical graphs and complete sync plans matched between binaries, and the locks and environments remained unchanged.Airflow used Python 3.11.15 with an August 8, 2024 cutoff. Home Assistant used Python 3.12.14 with a February 1, 2025 cutoff and its official 2025.1.4 requirements, preserving all integration/core requirements and upstream constraints. The older checked-in fixture could not resolve because
