Hi, I'm fyrak1s!

gobo

... the distro that superseded the FHS (in 2002) !


After casually working many years on the project, in 2025, I was honored to take over stewardship of GoboLinux from its founder, Hisham Muhammad.

GoboLinux is GREAT, because it brings a fresh, unconventional perspective to the Linux ecosystem. It is not bound by the shackles of the FHS ⛓️. However a lot of dust has fallen onto GoboLinux over the last 25 years...

My goal is to bring it back in shape. To shape it into a distro that’s practical, comfortable, community-driven, innovative — and above all, fun! Let it evolve into a viable option, on par, if not exceeding any other mainstream distro out there!!
