System data model validation errors do not prevent updates #8486

Short Description of bug: System DataModel validation errors do not block document updates.
Simple steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Define model for item with for example required string field with blank:false.
2. Create that item, update it with the string field set to empty string to prompt validation error..
3. The item appears as if the update did not go through.
4. Refresh, and the item is gone due to validation error, with the stringfield empty despite the validation failure for that update.

(In case that repro does not work, the exact test case was ArrayField(EmbeddedDataField(DataModelWithTheRequiredField)))
