I build backend systems and developer tools, and I still write code. Ruby on Rails is the stack I know best in production; I also work with Rust, Elixir/Phoenix, and Python. My recent open-source work gives coding assistants better context and tests whether that context actually helps.

- Led a zero-downtime Elasticsearch-to-OpenSearch migration that materially reduced infrastructure cost while preserving production availability.
