Finding the "Scientific" link between Martian temperatures and Earth's oil prices.
This project is a playful data-exploration tool built in Go. It compares the daily fluctuations of the Martian climate with the global crude oil market to determine if there is a hidden mathematical relationship between the Red Planet and our black gold.
This Go application serves as a data pipeline that:
- Ingests JSON datasets from Martian rovers and global energy markets.
- Synchronizes time-series data to find overlapping date points.
- Calculates correlation coefficients to reveal "hidden truths" in the data.
- Language: Go (Golang)
- Data Handling: Native
encoding/jsonandiopackages. - Pattern: High-performance time-series data alignment.
Ensure you have Go installed on your machine, then run the following commands to set up the dependencies:
# Clean up and sync dependencies
go mod tidy
go mod vendor
go mod download Run the Analysis
go run main.go The engine uses sample datasets located in the /sample directory:
- Martian Weather:
sample/mtdata.json(Curiosity/Perseverance daily reports) - Oil Prices:
sample/opdata.json(Historical crude oil market values)
