* http/s protocol only (at first) * ls-remote (ref discovery) * have/need negotiation * packfile receive * remote ref updating * error-reporting (sideband 3) * include-tag capability api should allow any refspec - (limiting the refs fetched, which local refs get updated) but should default to the config refspec it would be cool to return some data after the fetch (objects received, refs updated [from,to], time taken, size of the data) possibly: * progress (sideband 2 support) * support for shallow fetches (possible other refactorings involved here - revwalker, etc) both the push and fetch parts may benefit from the following resources: http://git-scm.com/http-protocol.txt http://git-scm.com/gitserver.txt
