Hi, I'm Dr. Lissette Almonte 👩🏾‍💻

I am an Assistant Professor (Ayudante Doctora) and Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), where I have been teaching since 2023. I hold a PhD in Computer Science from UAM as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow under the Lowcomote Project, a Master’s in Data Science from Kookmin University (South Korea), and a Bachelor’s in Software Engineering from Universidad Católica del Cibao (Dominican Republic).

My research focuses on Model-Driven Engineering (MDE), recommender systems, and intelligent assistants. I am a member of the Modeling and Software Engineering Research Group (MISO) at UAM, working with Dr. Juan de Lara and Dr. Esther Guerra. As part of my PhD, I contributed to the development of Droid and IronMan, tools and methodologies for integrating recommender systems into modeling environments.

In addition to research, I have teaching experience across several undergraduate programs at UAM, including the Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, the Bachelor’s in Telecommunication Technologies Engineering, and the Bachelor’s in Data Science and Engineering. Courses I have taught include Software Analysis and Design, Programming, Computer Science and Society, and Project Management. I also supervise Bachelor’s theses (TFG) and Master’s theses (TFM).

Before academia, I worked for 5 years as a Data Analyst at Edenorte Dominicana and collaborated with University of L'Aquila and Kookmin University. Currently, my research is focused on applying Large Language Models (LLMs) to intelligent assistants for modeling, to enhance automation, usability, and user experience in MDE environments. My work has been presented at international conferences and published in leading academic journals. For more details, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.
