Work on the internet
If you want to run your HFS on the internet, first verify if it is already working. You can do it on your own or use the "Verify" tool in Admin-panel > Internet. It looks like this:
If it suggests "fix it" for you, you can try that, of course. What it does is try to configure your modem/router. If your modem doesn't have that feature, you won't get the offered "fix", and even if you do, the attempted configuration may fail, so you can still try to configure your modem manually.
If you see "Double NAT" under the Internet icon, then modem configuration will probably not solve your problem because there is an extra layer (after your modem) that your traffic does not pass.
HFS cannot help in this situation. Try searching for a solution. Basically, your options are:
- ask your internet provider to offer you the service you are missing
- change internet provider, for another that provides you with an individual public IP address (doesn't need to be static, which is more expensive)
- find a service that doesn't require you to change internet provider. Here's a list.
