GaugeCross is an early-stage prototype aimed at intermodal freight operators who move cargo across the EU–CIS rail boundary, where a difference of 85mm between track gauges turns every crossing into a logistics event. The concept covers bogie swap scheduling, gauge conversion tracking, and the compliance documentation that border inspectors require — all in one place instead of a patchwork of spreadsheets and manual forms.

None yet. The concept anticipates connecting with EU freight manifest systems (TAF/TAP TSI data flows) and CIS-side documentation standards, but no live integrations are wired up in the current prototype.
The project is structured as a single-application prototype — a frontend interface backed by lightweight local state or a minimal API, with no production database or distributed infrastructure in place. Document generation is handled by template logic within the app itself. The codebase is organized around the core domain objects: wagons, conversion events, and compliance documents.

This is a proof-of-concept exploring whether a dedicated tool can replace the spreadsheet workflows that freight operators currently rely on at gauge-break borders. APIs, data models, and document formats are subject to change.
