Hi, I'm Samuel Sovi, an Applications Engineer II at Oracle and a UC Berkeley) alumnus with a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (Concentration in Data Science). Prior to Berkeley, I earned my B.S. in Computer Science (Concentration in Software Security) with a Minor in Applied Mathematics from Gonzaga University.
At Oracle, my work centers on machine learning and applied AI—developing end-to-end RAG ingestion pipelines for vector search, building intelligent Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and designing evaluation frameworks to benchmark agent accuracy.
My previous internships at KLA, Noel Technologies, and Cisco have honed my ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and solve complex problems. My expertise spans various programming languages and tools, including Python, Java, C++, and SQL, complemented by a keen interest in AI and machine learning. My background in AI has been enhanced through my capstone projects, including fine-tuning Large Language Models for long-form text generation with Asurion and developing an AI-powered AI filtering tool for Boeing to protect intellectual property leaks.
(Additional Note: Many of my class/capstone projects cannot be displayed on my profile due to project topic reuse/NDAs)
Feel free to reach out to me at ssovi@berkeley.edu.
