Description

The "Export as TXT" button was calling generateMarkdown() which produces markdown syntax (#, **, - [ ], _italics_). When opened in Notepad or TextEdit, these render as formatting noise rather than clean readable text.

Added a dedicated generatePlainText() function that produces properly formatted plain text.

Fixes #359

Type of Change

  • Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
  • Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to not work as expected)
  • This change requires a documentation update

What Changed

  • src/dashboard.ts:
    • Added generatePlainText(state) function that outputs clean plain text with • bullets, indentation, and [done]/[ ] status markers
    • Updated the TXT export click handler to use generatePlainText() instead of generateMarkdown()

The 'Export as TXT' button was calling generateMarkdown() which produces
markdown syntax (# headers, **bold**, - [ ] checkboxes, _italics_). This
renders as formatting noise in plain text viewers.

Added a dedicated generatePlainText() function that produces clean plain
text with:
- Simple section headers (no # prefix)
- Bullet points using • character
- Indented content for readability
- [done]/[ ] for action item status
- Parenthesized metadata instead of markdown emphasis

@shouri123 Fixed both issues:

  1. PR Title Lint — already renamed the title to start with a lowercase letter (was "TXT", now "txt")
  2. Out of date — rebased onto latest main

CI should be all green now. Thanks for flagging!

@shouri123 Fixed the SonarCloud warning — refactored the nested template literal in generatePlainText() by extracting the ternary into a separate variable. Pushed in 241ea65. The PR title lint issue was already fixed earlier (renamed to lowercase).
