Pake V3.17.3

Changelog

  1. Native capabilities such as notifications, downloads, zoom, window controls, and opening links in the system browser are now granted only to local pages and the exact origin of the packaged URL, so a page that navigates to another site can no longer call them. Package the final URL a site lands on, for example https://mail.google.com rather than https://gmail.com.
  2. Clicking a notification on macOS brings back the window that sent it and removes it from Notification Center, and with --multi-window a message raised by several windows is shown once and counted once on the Dock badge.
  3. Downloads send the page's User-Agent, Referer, and session cookies, including after redirects, so files behind a login save correctly. A failed download no longer leaves a truncated file, and simultaneous downloads with the same name are saved separately.
  4. Linux apps default to a User-Agent that matches their WebKit engine instead of claiming to be Chrome, which lets YouTube captions load. --user-agent still overrides it.
  5. Linux apps follow the desktop's light or dark preference and switch live when it changes, while --dark-mode still takes priority.
  6. On macOS, window.print() opens the print dialog, two-finger trackpad swipes go back and forward, and the tab bar shows a + button when --multi-window is on.
  7. Windows adds the opt-in --password-autosave, which offers to save passwords in the app's own WebView2 profile and stays off in private windows. --windows-toolchain gnu --keep-binary now places WebView2Loader.dll beside the executable so it starts on its own.

  5. Linux 应用会跟随桌面的浅色或深色偏好，运行中切换也会实时生效，--dark-mode 仍然优先。
  6. macOS 上 window.print() 可以弹出打印面板，触控板双指左右滑动可以前进和后退，开启 --multi-window 时标签栏会显示 + 按钮。
  7. Windows 新增可选的 --password-autosave，开启后应用会在自己的 WebView2 配置里提示保存密码，隐私窗口中始终关闭，--windows-toolchain gnu --keep-binary 也会把 WebView2Loader.dll 放在可执行文件旁边，程序可以直接启动。

Changelog

  1. Linux apps on WebKitGTK 2.52 or later keep hardware acceleration on both X11 and Wayland, so videos play without crashing and fullscreen keeps the player controls.
  2. Windows opened with --multi-window and pop-up windows get the same permissions as the main window, so external links, downloads, and notifications work there too.
  3. GNOME and other Linux docks match a running app to its launcher, showing the right icon and keeping pinned entries working.
  4. niri sessions get native WebKit rendering back, which the 3.17.0 flag change had dropped.
  5. Grok quote cards stay inside the content column when the author name is long.
  6. --windows-toolchain gnu builds keep the required linker flags when CARGO_ENCODED_RUSTFLAGS is set.

Changelog

  1. Reopening a web app returns to the page you left; packaged home URLs, private sessions, and local apps are unchanged.
  2. Linux apps on X11 no longer crash when a video starts, since the WebKit compositing workaround now applies only on Wayland.
  3. Windows machines with MinGW but no Visual Studio Build Tools can build with --windows-toolchain gnu, and the default is unchanged.
  4. Bad --zoom, --hide-on-close, and --config values now fail with exit code 2 and a machine-readable result.
  5. An unexpected extra argument is named in the error, so an unquoted --name Google Translate explains itself.
  6. Codex users can install the official skill with codex plugin marketplace add tw93/Pake and codex plugin add pake@pake.

  4. Linux builds targeting multiple package formats now compile once, while concurrent CLI builds can prepare independently without modifying the installed package.

Changelog

  1. Fixed the Windows system tray: after --hide-on-close, left-clicking the tray icon restores the window instead of doing nothing, and autostarted apps no longer register a blank taskbar icon.
  2. macOS menu commands keep working on blank error pages: Reload, Go Home, Back, Forward, and Copy URL now use native WebKit APIs instead of page JavaScript, so they still respond after a page fails to load.
  3. Fixed links mistaken for downloads: GitHub release pages and in-app routes such as /assets/ open in the webview again, and Cmd/Ctrl+click counts as navigation rather than "save as".
  4. Fixed the startup window appearing before its content is ready, and tray Hide/Show plus the activation shortcut now act on every window instead of only the main one.
  5. --ignore-certificate-errors now works on macOS, and sharp, tmp, file-type, and quinn-proto were updated for security advisories. Node 20 is now the minimum, up from 18.

  1. Added --json machine-readable mode for scripts and AI agents: stdout carries exactly one JSON result with stable exit and error codes, all logs go to stderr.
  2. Added --config app.json to describe an app declaratively, with a published JSON schema, range validation, and CLI-flag-wins precedence.
  3. Local build output can now be packaged directly: pake ./dist --name MyTool bundles a static directory without a server, with the CLI's own files safely restored after every run.
  4. Pake is now installable as a Claude Code skill: /plugin marketplace add tw93/Pake then /plugin install pake@pake.
  5. Fixed Ctrl+V dropping clipboard images on Windows and Linux, and fixed duplicate windows when Cmd/Ctrl+N is used with both system tray and multi-window enabled.
