I agree changing references to "Latin (and/or Greek)" to "Western" unless the context specifically means Latin alphabet. The "Western" is a good choice as there is a definition for Western characters cl-27. I have a question though. I found there are many other places that use the word "Latin". Why are we changing only three places?

That's a good question.
It seems for me this was originally from a definition of ローマ数字 as ラテン文字の大文字又は小文字を用いて表記する数字.(JIS Z 8125), and a word Latin letters was used at several points like section 3.2.4.
We may refactor all of these wordings and their definitions, but I suppose it's more than editorial.
