5.2.3-preview1
5.2.3 is a DJ hardware and metadata reliability release. Denon DJ setups now
connect to every player and all-in-one on the network at once, so multi-player
rigs work with or without a Denon mixer, and discovery reaches machines with
more than one network interface. Icecast track data is read far more reliably:
metadata split across network reads is no longer dropped, a track no longer
inherits the previous track's artist, and Traktor broadcasts in particular
behave much better. What's Now Playing also now checks whether this computer's
certificate authorities can still verify the music services it fetches from and
falls back to a bundled set when they cannot, fixing artwork and biographies
that silently stopped arriving on older machines.
Running the Intel build on Apple Silicon: the first launch can take several
minutes with no window and no progress.
You only need the zip file for your platform.
See the full changelog for details.
5.2.2
5.2.2 is primarily a security and polish release. It patches several
denial-of-service vulnerabilities in bundled network libraries, fixes a stale
template list in the preview window, and adds a "Receive pre-release updates"
checkbox in General settings so you can opt in to future previews without
waiting for the stable release. djay Pro users with large libraries will also
notice faster track lookups and better performance.

5.2.0
The big additions this release: WNP EarShot support. Vinyl decks, standalone CDJs, and analog mixers can now feed track data via Shazam-based audio identification. The OBS Scene Collection exporter generates a ready-to-import OBS scene file in one click, no manual source configuration needed.
42 browser overlay templates are now included, with 8 new WebGL and animated effects templates.
Twitch and Kick bots can now automatically update your stream title on each track change. The entire settings UI has been overhauled for consistency, and the tray icon now follows your OS light/dark scheme automatically.
See the CHANGELOG.md for all fixes and details.
5.2.0 Preview Release 3
macOS and Windows binaries are now signed. Twitch stream titles can now update automatically when a new track plays. EarShot is now a first-class input source with "Always Accept" mode for vinyl, CDJs, and analog mixers. The tray icon and settings now follows your OS dark/light mode. Cover art from EarShot is now fetched automatically if it is sent. The Kick bot no longer requires a restart after completing browser OAuth. Doc images updates. Twitch broadcaster login should stick around after exit.
Known issues: Linux MPRIS2 is still very noisy.
5.2.0 Preview Release 2
8 new overlay templates including WebGL effects (vinyl, spectrum, hologram, wave, particles, cube), a fanart slideshow, and frosted glass. New "Export for OBS..." menu generates a ready-to-import scene collection. Settings screens now have a live template preview with a "Use This Template" button.
VirtualDJ now pulls metadata from the local library database and correctly converts BPM. Bug fixes for M4A metadata, OAuth on non-standard ports, en-dash filenames, and duplicate chart submissions.
Tenor GIF support removed; use Klipy instead. Python 3.10 dropped (3.11+ required, 3.14 supported). Installer is larger than 5.1.0 due to the embedded browser engine in the preview window.
