📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe remote CLI adds an AC-only sleep-prevention option for macOS. Remote token refresh now coalesces concurrent requests, retries selected failures with backoff, and handles terminal refresh errors. ChangesRemote sleep policy

Suggested reviewers: Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to Remote session refresh is meant to retry through temporary server errors. For HTTP 429 and 500 responses, however, the auth library may sign the device out before the retry runs. A brief server hiccup could then leave a remote device offline and require re-authentication. Please resolve this before merging. The macOS AC-only sleep option looks fine. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 3 | ❌ 2❌ Failed checks (2 warnings)

Keep HTTP 429 and 500 refresh failures out of the sign-out path.
With the pinned auth-js 2.90.0, refreshSession() removes its stored session and emits SIGNED_OUT for these AuthApiError responses before this branch schedules a retry. handleSignedOut() then makes one restore attempt. If the service still returns 429 or 500, it marks the session lost, so the scheduled retry cannot recover it. Make these responses retryable before the SDK removes the session, or use a refresh path that preserves the session until a terminal error occurs. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
As per the retrieved learning, transient refresh failures must retain the existing tokens rather than downgrade the user state.

After a temporary network failure during the 45-minute manual session refresh, Remote can continue using an expiring JWT until the next scheduled refresh. This can leave the device offline while its process remains alive.
This PR retries temporary refresh failures after 5s, 15s, and 60s, then caps subsequent retry delays at 5 minutes. Concurrent manual refreshes share one request, successful refresh resets the backoff, and shutdown/session loss cancels retries. Explicit terminal auth errors use the existing one-shot restore/offline path. The normal successful refresh cadence remains unchanged.
Fixes #747.
A separate commit adds the opt-in macOS
--no-sleep-ac-onlyflag. It passescaffeinate -s -w <PID>, keeping the system awake on AC power while allowing battery sleep. The default policy is preserved, and--disable-no-sleeptakes precedence. CLI help and the Remote README document the option.Validation on Node 22.21.1:
npm run build— passed.test-remote-token-refresh-retry.js— 14 cases passed.test-remote-sleep-policy.js— 4 cases passed, including the actual caffeinate argument adapter, default behavior, flag precedence, and non-macOS behavior.git diff --check— passed.Installation note: the current upstream lockfile is rejected by
npm cibecause several transitive js-yaml records are missing. Validation usednpm install --ignore-scripts; the original lockfile was restored, and this PR contains no dependency changes. The full test suite was not run.The corresponding v0.2.52 local runtime also passed a live device Online/pong check and verified the macOS AC-only caffeinate helper. Forced sleep/wake and a real 45-minute refresh cycle have not been observed, so those are not claimed as live validation. Server-side connection-pool failures remain outside this change.
