1. HACS – Add Integration

HACS → Integrations → ⋮ → Custom Repositories

→ Download "Violet Pool Controller" → Restart HA

2. Set Up Integration

Settings → Devices & Services → Add Integration → "Violet Pool Controller"
Enter host IP (and adjust port if different from 80) → Select features → Done!

3. Ready! 🎉 Your pool is now smart.

The HTTP client powering this integration is developed in this repo and published to PyPI as violet-poolController-api — usable standalone, without Home Assistant:

Built-in safety & robustness: token-bucket rate limiting, circuit breaker, retry with backoff, input sanitization, SSL/TLS verification, standalone-dosing mode.

This repository contains the Home Assistant integration. The API client lives in its own repository (violet-poolController-api, published to PyPI) and is installed as a dependency.

Development setup:

pip install -r requirements-dev.txt   # installs HA + the violet-poolController-api package
pytest tests/                         # HA integration test suite

Releases: the HA integration is released via v* tags (HACS). The API package is released independently in its own repository via api-v* tags (automatic PyPI publish + GitHub release).
