Zai is a User Defined Storage System(UDS), it's the future of SDS(Software Defined Storage).

The foundation of Zai is a distributed storage which won't be arrogant to think that it has fully mastered various IO models. Users could build block/file system/object storage upon on Zai, and define their own structures inside the storage back-end by plug-in form.
