WIP Teddy bear terrain tiles

 Hi guys

Done some more work on my teddy bear terrain tiles, it will be a general purpose board for all eras and genres, designed to fit 15mm-28mm, have shaved the dirt roads out with clippers, reduced the tyre ruts down with a long necked bbq lighter, I'll glue sand into the tyre ruts and paint brown, the long brown/white stripe on the right will be a river, I plan on filling it with clear resin after detailing the river bed, and will be shaping the grass in differant areas, and colouring it various greens/yellows/browns, I need to make more tiles with a single end to end road, have done enough t/y/x intersection, and will do more farming and plain fields, as well as some scatter hills and other terrain, plan on train tracks, houses to suit Russian, Normandy and some fantasy/Medieval buildings and a bridge accross the river as well as some shallow river crossings.

Chronicles of the Wayfarer 15mm fantasy Painting contest

Hi guys

I was approached to enter a painting contest for a new 15mm Fantasy manufacturer, Chronicles of the Wayfarer, I'm not anticipating winning as I think there will be some heavy hitters entering, but I always like supporting new entries into our hobby so agreed, part of the comp is to also write a review of the figures, I will be honest in my review, I was given these 4 figures as part of this comp and have no other incentives or link to this company.
The good - as can be seen these are very detailed, actually incredibly detailed figures, I hate to say, but almost to detailed for my skill, have a look at the ladies sward hilt, incredible, they have very good anatomy, nothing seems out of proportion for those that like that, poses are quite good and they came with 2 different detailed base, the guy with the hammer had a choice of sword or hammer arm, and the ladies back thing was separate.

The bad - they are resin figures, I prefer metal, they do seem quite sturdy though, but I am imagining some  possible breakage during game play.

The ugly - These are computer sculpted, and quite a good job to, but for some reason the shields are crazily thick, especially the long body shield, maybe this is due to the moulding process, but isn't mirrored in other parts like the sword, so not sure, I did contemplate cutting them off and sanding them back, but thought its better you see what you will get.

Have added a comparison pic with a rebel, Khurasan and AB figure, all comments welcome.

WIP 15mm WHF Empire Halberdiers

Hi guys, I have been doing a 15mm 40k project for a long time now, but long before I started that project I had considered doing 15mm Warhammer, so having renewed my interest in fantasy, I have decided to push ahead with 15mm WH fantasy, the idea is not to particularly make every thing for WH rules, but to use the WH fluff for my fantasy armies, I have decided to kick off with the Empire.
I am converting some Museum miniatures Landsnacht figures, with a smattering of other lines thrown in, here is my first unit, a 32 man halberdier unit, Landsnacht figure have look look I want, but I don't like their floppy hats with all the feathers for my Empire troops, so I have given them all head swaps, I was wondering what I would use for helmets, and was considering sculpting them with GS, when I remembered I had a heap of WWI French and German heads from my 15mm 40K Imperial guard army, so I have used those, I will add GS to disguise them a little, I have a lot of GS work to do on their bodies, am thinking of doing the army either Blue/red of Altdorf, Black/Yellow of Averland, or Red/Yellow of Talabecland, what do you think?

Guess who?

Hi guys, putting my Scifi projects on hold to do some fantasy, I have a massive order in with Splintered Light, they haven't arrived yet and I am eager to start, so I am working on the Hobbits, Gimli and Boromir, in my 15mm lord of the rings project, I have a lot of putty work to go on these guys, none of the hobbits have left arms yet, they are converted SL Halflings, I have to cut their shields off, and will sculpt new arms, and Boromir needs his tabard sculpted, will probably just re paint Gimili, thoughts?

Cheap Dragon find

Hi guys, was going through my local $2 store and came across these, they are made by a company called Ausini, and the sets are called "The world of dinosaur" I got sets no.923 and 926, there were 6 in each bag for $5 per bag, so they came out to 83 cents each, they are made of vinyl, some are harder than others, but all will take and hold paint well I fell, they are fairly detailed, the only complaint I would have would be the poses, some of the "standing on hind legs" poses are usable, but they are mostly in that pose, I would have preferred more "on all fours" poses, there's only 1 of those, there are some cool themed dragons to with an aquatic and serpent feel, I will be filling any gaps, adding some detail with putty, some of them may get cut up and re posed, then giving them a good paint job, some will end up being used for parts, some will have riders, good find, the figure is a Khurasan 15mm fig for size, my favourite are all the green and blue ones, the orange one is not to bad either.
