Welcome to Sweden, a country where pristine nature and cosmopolitan cities live in close harmony, and where sunny Swedish hospitality will quickly chase the winter chill away!

From Stockholm to Gothenburg, delight in Sweden’s urban and cultural treasures

Set on the coast or below the mountains, Sweden’s main cities have plenty to offer. Sweden’s capital Stockholm is scattered over an archipelago whose islands, connected by pretty bridges, make up a collection of districts with distinct personalities, from the historic Gamla Stan to the cool and cosmopolitan Södermalm. Gothenburg, the biggest port in Scandinavia, is a buzzing university town with an exciting cultural scene and is surrounded by a lovely coastline lined with delightful fishing villages that are a testament to Sweden’s maritime culture. Malmö on the other hand is a striking example of modern urban planning, with its Turning Torso, the iconic skyscraper looming over the bay out to Copenhagen. In all of these cities, the museums – the Vasa in Stockholm or the Universeum in Gothenburg – offer fun and fascinating experiences that the whole family will enjoy.

Breathtaking scenery from the Swedish shores to its northernmost provinces

Away from its cities, Sweden harbours vast swathes of magnificent landscapes – thick forests, crystal-clear lakes and the majestic Scandes mountain range. In summer, the wilds of Sarek National Park promise unforgettable treks among the glacial valleys, the mountain ranges and the exhilarating white-water rapids. Sweden’s coasts are a haven for boat enthusiasts, especially around the thousands of islands that make up the Stockholm archipelago, around the island of Gotland and on the country’s west coast. In winter, there aren’t many experiences that can beat seeing the Northern Lights in Swedish Lapland, north of the polar circle. The midnight sun brightens up the summer nights letting visitors make the most of nature almost without interruption. If you can, don’t leave Sweden without making a detour to Dalarna, as pretty as a picture with its villages of red wooden cottages, lakes of pure water and old-growth forests.
