Happy Father's Day

It is Father's Day in Australia tomorrow, so I have a handful of Father's Day cards to share.

All of them have a panel of Yupo with alcohol ink, and a comparatively simple sentiment. 

This sentiment is from a company that no longer exists, sadly. 

I used a sentiment stamp set from Studio Katia for this card, with the "happy" embossed on vellum:

Pooping unicorn

I was asked to make a card with a unicorn pooping a rainbow. Here 'tis!

I used the Unicorn Magic stamp set from Paper Rose. I had to alter the unicorn stamp to make the tail sit up higher to allow for the poop! The stencil I used for the grass if from MFT, the cloud dies are from Memory Box, and the toadstools are from Lawn Fawn. The background is in Distress Oxide inks, and I coloured the images with Copic markers.

Happy birthday, Paul

It was my brother-in-law's birthday this month - here's the card I made for him.

I used the Round and Round background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, coloured with zig markers and and water, and then sprayed with a lot of Perfect Pearls in water. The sentiment die is from Papertrey Ink, and the teeny tiny stamp is from Simon Says Stamp.

Pastel happy birthday

I tend to use bright colours, so every so often, I force myself to use pale colours.

I used the Rose frame background die from Paper Rose Studio and coloured the card behind it with Distress Oxide inks and a stencil brush. I finished with a sentiment from PaperTrey Ink and some droplets from Studio Katia.

Celebrate

These photos just do not do the glitter embossing powder from WOW justice!

I stamped the Damask background stamp from Simon Says Stamp in Versamark, then added the Emerald City embossing glitter from Wow. I cut the panel with dies from Pink & Main, and from Lil' Inkers, and stamped the Celebrate stamp, from Gina K Design.

Fusion: Floral wall

Rainbow flower

I seriously think that, if I go too long without a rainbow card, I will get sick. Rainbows are totally therapeutic!

I made a semicircle rainbow of alcohol pearls on yupo, then added a cut-down die from Paper Rose Studio over the top. The sentiment is an old wood mount stamp from Hero Arts, which I stamped in onyx black versafine ink and embossed onto vellum.

Alcohol inks and pearls

I've been asked multiple times to make videos of my alcohol ink cards. Seeing as I told myself I would try to make more videos this year, I made a video. It has four cards in it!

For the first card, I used Alcohol inks in Salmon and Peach Bellini, and Alccohol Pearl in Alchemy. The giraffe is from Reverse Confetti "Lift me up" and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up (discontinued). The Stitched Hillside Border dies are from Lawn Fawn.

For the second card, I used Inks in Aqua and Sailboat Blue, and Alcohol pearls in Tranquil. The birdie stamp is from My Favorite Things (Tweet Friends) and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up (discontinued).

For the third card, I used Alcohol ink in Indigo and alcohol pearls in Tranquil. The cute stamps are from Mama Elephant "Up and Away" and the cloud dies are from Memory Box. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up (discontinued).

The final card has alcohol inks in Salmon and Pink Sherbet, and alcohol pearls in Intrigue and Enchanted. The elephhant is from Mama Elephant "Fly with me" and the sentiment is from Avery Elle "So Happy".

Stretch your stamps at A Blog Named Hero

The challenge theme at A Blog Named Hero this month is Stretch Your stamps. I use a lot of background stamps, and one way to stretch them to get a different look is to only use a portion of them.

I used the Flower Garden Bold Print stamp from Hero Arts, white embossed and coloured with Zig markers and water. I cut it into four 1.5-inch-square panels, and then added a sentiment from Mouse Tea Party. I finished with some clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Purple flowers on yupo

I have so many panels of Yupo with alcohol inks and alcohol pearls, I have a problem!

I embossed some flowers from Uniquely Creative over the alcohol inks (it is do-able, but not easy to do - you have to keep the heat tool moving at all times so that the yupo doesn't melt) and I added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

I love making background panels with colour and pattern all over, but then when I add them to cards, it's just TOOOOO MUCH!! I need my white space!! So cutting the panel in half is a win-win - I get my white space, and I get two cards for the price of one! Yay!

The panel has a white embossed stamp from Catherine Pooler, coloured with Zig markers and sprayed with Perfect Pearls. I added a white embossed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and fussy cut the sentiment for some extra interest.

Doodled lace birthday

I have so many panels of yupo with alcohol ink, I hardly know what to do with them all! I don't know what I would do without gorgeous cover plate dies like this one from Altenew.

Nuance powders

This card started as a panel of white watercolour cardstock. The first step was to spray it with water.

I then added colour using Nuance powder by Magenta. After drying it with my heat tool, I then stamped the floral border from Ink Blot Shop, and a sentiment from Hero Arts, and white embossed them both.

A simple one-layer card to share today.

I used a stencil from Funky Fossil Designs, inked in a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks, and added a stamped sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  Some sequins finished the card.

Pink hugs

This card has an image stamped over alcohol inks and alcohol pearls using Alcohol lift ink. It's not the easiest to see, though.

I used a floral image from Studio Katia, with a die from Pink and Main and a sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted.

Christmas at A Blog Named Hero

I have a card on the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page today for the latest challenge, Christmas in July (yes, I know it's not July anymore, but it's still a great opportunity to get a head start on your Christmas card making!)

 
I started with a yupo panel with alcohol inks, added die cut glittter paper using the Snowflake Edge fancy die, and a sentiment from Winter Holiday Messages.
