Case me a Christmas Card Hop 4

Welcome to Case me a Christmas Card 2025 - a Christmas Card series!

Throughout October, there will be a series of 10 hops – two YouTube hops, and eight Instagram hops. Each hop involves participants CASEing (Copy And Selectively Edit) a card from the next person, drawing inspiration while each creating a Christmas Card. And you can join in!

Background

This series began in November 2016 as a personal challenge to explore different Christmas card styles, with friends suggesting creative ideas. Over time, more cardmakers joined, leading to a format where participants CASE each other's cards. A helpful video by Ardyth Percy Robb outlines a 5-step CASE process—check it out HERE.

This year

This year is a bit different, because I'd love for you to join in! You can join in by making your own CASE, or by commenting on the stops on the hop (either on IG or on YT).

I'm over the moon excited to share that some amazingly generous companies that I love are offering some super generous prizes!

This is Michelle's card that I CASEd:

I includes a 3D embossed tag on my card (using an embossing folder from Altenew), plus some twine at the top, just as Michelle did in her project. I extended the pattern to the background of the card, matching up the pattern on the card and the tag.

Your turn!

Now, you’re invited to join! CASE a card from any hop participant, share your creation via Inlinkz HERE, and you could win a prize from one of our amazing sponsors! Or comment on any of the stops on the hop for a chance to win, too!

To link up your CASE me a Christmas Card project, first share it publicly somewhere you can copy the link – this can be your blog, Instagram, a Flickr account, your Splitcoast gallery – anywhere that allows you to have a URL or website location to link up, and where we can see your post.

My Monthly Hero November card kit

Hello! Today, I'm sharing some cute cards using tags I made using the November My Monthly Hero Card Kit from Hero Arts.

I cut all of the dies from white cardstock and coloured them with Copic markers. I used the puffy embossing powder from the kit on Santa's beard, moustache, and hat, and stamped the dot pattern stamp onto Rudolph's scarf. I assembled the tags using liquid glue, and tied some of the red and white twine to the tops. I stamped the stripe and dot patterns onto panels of white cardstock with Hero Arts reactive inks, along with a sentiment, and then adhered the Santa and Rudolph tags to the panel, before adhering some fun foam to the panel and then putting them onto card bases.

Fusion - Mother's Day

Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!

I used a tag from Heidi Swapp/Minc, foiled with hot pink foil. I then stenciled over it using a Tim Holtz stencil, tied a ribbon and twine to the top, and used a stencil from Simon Says Stamp for the background.

Make sure you check out all the rest of the inspiration at the Fusion challenge blog, and play along with your own creation!

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Lisa Stein

Welcome to "Challenge me a Christmas Card" for 2019! I have asked cardmaking friends to join me in the lead up to Christmas by challenging me to make a card using a specific style, theme, technique or product.

My guest for today is Lisa Stein. Lisa has challenged me to make a tag.

You can check out her take on the challenge HERE

Here's what I came up with:

I cut the tag from navy cardstock using a die from Papertrey Ink.  I then added glitter paste using a stencil from My Favorite Things. I then stamped and coloured a penguin also from MFT, and added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

25 Days of Christmas Tags for Picket Fence Studios

Hello! Today is a special event - the Design Team at Picket Fence Studios is taking part in Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags event!
http://inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.ca

There are heaps of prizes to be won from heaps of sponsors

Here's my tag:

I used the snow globe image from "The Season of Giving" along with the matching die from Picket Fence Studios. I coloured the image with my Derwent pencils, and I used partial diecutting to make it into a tag - I hand cut the little tag piece at the top, and added a red cord.

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC 177

Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
We're playing TicTacToe today, and I went with the middle column - one layer, tag, rainbow!

I white embossed the Thank you stamp in So Pretty for the sentiment, and the tiny star from Sassy Smiles is stamped and embossed with glitter embossing powder. I blended a rainbow of Distress Inks for a soft background, and added a white ribbon as a finishing touch.

Make sure you check out what the rest of the design team have made for this challenge!

Christmas tags

I wanted to make some simple, quick Christmas tags today on some white cardstock I'd already cut with a tag top (cut with a punch from Stampin' Up).  I started thinking I would stamp the outline "Peace Poinsettias" from Hero Arts in black, then stamp the solid poinsettia inside the outline to colour it. But at some stage, I changed my mind.

I pulled out my Inktense pencils and coloured them, before adding some water (I didn't use watercolour paper, I had to be sparing with the water). I then decided I needed a background colour, so I pulled out a Distress Ink reinker in Tumbled Glass, and painted it close to the poinsettias.  I then thought I was done, until I looked at my desk and saw my Wink of Stella brush, and I had to add some glimmer.  The last thing I did on the cardstock was decide that the space in the bottom right would not be for my to/from message, but for a sentiment from Avery Elle, which I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, and clear heat embossed. The final step was to add some red ribbon with white polka dots.
Thanks for visiting :)  I'll be back again tomorrow with another "Challenge me a Christmas Card" post.
