Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 October 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using HearMe, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.
2. About HearMe
HearMe is an anonymous voice and text chat service. You are matched with a stranger for a one-to-one voice call or text chat, and you can message friends. There is no video on HearMe. It is not a dating or adult-content platform.
3. Age Requirement
You must be 18 years or older to use HearMe. By using the service, you confirm you are at least 18. We require users to confirm they are 18 or older before using chat features.
4. User Conduct
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. Harassment, hate speech, illegal activity, spam, and explicit content are not permitted.
5. User Content
You are responsible for the content you share on HearMe, including messages, voice, Stranger Jury cases and comments, profile pictures and profile details. Do not share anything illegal or that violates others' rights (including copyright and privacy).
6. Monitoring & Safety
We may monitor activity and content to keep the platform safe and enforce our Guidelines. By using the service, you consent to this.
6a. Voice calls and reports
Voice calls are not recorded or stored by HearMe. Every one-to-one call is private: nobody else can listen in, whether you use HearMe free or with Premium. During a call on the website, each participant's browser keeps only the most recent 60 seconds of the other side's audio in memory on that device. If a participant taps Report, that 60-second clip is sent to us together with the reason, is reviewed by a person on our team, and is deleted within 7 days, unless a moderator confirms the report as child safety or under 18; then it is kept as evidence for one year from the confirmation. The Android app keeps no audio. Nothing is uploaded unless someone reports. Rooms are text only.
6b. Stranger Jury
Stranger Jury lets you describe a conflict you are in and ask strangers to judge it, and judge other people's. You must be 18 or older to use it. Anyone on HearMe who confirms they are 18 or older may see what you post. Your case title and the verdict also appear on a share picture that anyone with the link can see. When you post a case or a comment, you agree that:
- it is your own conflict, not someone else's story or a made-up one;
- it contains no names, phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, links or anything else that identifies someone, including you;
- it contains no sexual content, and nothing about anyone under 18, including you;
- it contains no threats, hate or harassment.
Votes are opinions from strangers, not advice, and not a judgement of anyone's conduct. A verdict is not professional, medical or legal advice. We check what you write with automated filters before it is posted, and may decline to post it, hide it while we look at a report, or remove it later. We may stop people who break these rules from using Jury. You can delete your own case at any time with the private link we give you or, if you're logged in, from My cases on your profile; anyone who has the link can delete the case, so keep it to yourself. If a case suggests you may harm yourself, we don't post it and we show support lines.
7. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Guidelines, without prior notice. A ban can also apply to each phone or browser you use the banned account on, until 30 days after you last use it there (never longer than the ban). For the whole ban, it can apply to the phone or browser you last used the account on before the ban. An under-18 ban also applies, for as long as it lasts, to the phone or browser where it was detected. A moderator can also block your internet connection (IP address) for up to 30 days. For a child-safety or under-18 ban a moderator makes, the IP address the account used in the last 24 hours is blocked for 72 hours instead, if there is one. You can appeal a ban on your account once, within 30 days of when it began (except child-safety and under-18 bans). A block on a phone, browser or connection can't be appealed. A person reviews every appeal, and their decision is final. Deleting your account doesn't lift a ban: your verified email address and Google account stay banned for as long as the ban lasts.
8. Account Security
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your login details with others. Notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Privacy
Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect only the data necessary to operate and improve the service.
10. Premium Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are billed through our third-party payment processor. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. See our Refund Policy for cancellation and refund details.
11. Intellectual Property
HearMe and its branding, design, and original content are owned by HearMe. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our platform or content without permission. User-generated content remains yours, but you grant us a license to display and moderate it as needed to operate the service.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of HearMe after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
13. Limitation of Liability
HearMe is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of our service, including interactions with other users.
14. Contact
