Philadelphia 76ers Rumors
Sources I’ve spoken to insist the Sixers could still go with Bailey. According to one agent: “[Daryl] Morey doesn’t care about all that noise. If he wants Ace, then that’s exactly who he’s going to take.” But not every agent shares that optimism. One who represents a projected lottery pick didn’t mince words: “Ace is f****ing the draft order up.”
Jason Dumas: FWIW, I got the opinion of someone who was present for VJ’s workout for the Sixers. It was pretty on par with what he put on tape at Baylor: “Good energy. Super athletic. Shot can get better but seemed like a good kid.”
Bailey is healthy by all accounts and his shot-making is considered his most elite skill. There’s no savvy reason to avoid working out for Philadelphia unless you’re secure and comfortable with the Hornets picking you at No. 4. Yet any suggestion of such synergy between Charlotte and Bailey has not yet circulated on the NBA grapevine.
Pat McAfee: Shams: “For all we know there might be a promise in place for Ace Bailey.. He was supposed to be in Philadelphia today and they had everything arranged for him.. From my understanding he cancelled on that visit”
Ace Bailey cancels Sixers workout
Ace Bailey reportedly has yet to visit with an NBA team ahead of the draft and still does not have a meeting scheduled. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Shams Charania reported late Wednesday night that Bailey will not visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday: “Bailey, the No. 3 prospect on ESPN’s big board, was slated to fly to Philadelphia, owners of the No. 3 pick in the draft, Friday, for dinner with the team’s front office and a private workout, but elected to cancel on Wednesday, sources told ESPN.”
Per ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Bailey has not followed the traditional route of scheduling individual workouts with teams and going to teams’ facilities. “NBA teams are a little bit perplexed about his pre-draft process,” Givony said on NBA Today (2:10 mark). “He’s the only player who has yet to conduct a single workout to this point. He has not visited any NBA team facilities. Ace Bailey’s camp is adamant in conversations that he’s a top-three player in this draft, and they’re looking for a clear pathway to stardom both with minutes and opportunities.”

Guerschon Yabusele's return to Philadelphia becoming increasingly difficult?
With a trio of Sixers veterans — Kelly Oubre Jr., Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon — all expected to soon activate the player options in their respective contracts for next season, it looks as though it will be increasingly challenging for Philadelphia to re-sign beloved big man Guerschon Yabusele. The former first-round pick from France, who played last season on a minimum deal, is projected to have a strong market in free agency.
“I do think it’s true that the Philadelphia 76ers are interested in trading down to No. 5 potentially if they can get off the Paul George deal,” Larsen said. “That may not make sense given how long that contract is and how I think Paul George was [last year]. I don’t think the Jazz are going to take that offer, but do think that’s an offer that’s been presented.”
