4 cities, 4 workshops, 1 goal: to communicate better with our delivery partners - this time, through sign language. 200 Eternals across Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad came together recently to learn the basics of Indian Sign Language, so they can engage more meaningfully with our hearing and speech-impaired delivery partners.

About us
Zomato’s mission statement is “better food for more people.” Since our inception in 2010, we have grown tremendously, both in scope and scale - and emerged as India’s most trusted brand during the pandemic, along with being one of the largest hyperlocal delivery networks in the country. Today, Zomato represents a wide range of cultures through its diversified 5000+ team members, 3.5 lakh+ delivery partners, and our biggest collective of the finest restaurant partners. We are grateful that our business is able to provide upward social and economic movement for millions of households – of our delivery partners, as well as restaurant staff. We think of all of us as one big family! Our passion is driven by purpose and we take immense pride in our initiative ‘Feeding India’, one of India’s largest not-for-profits working to ensure that nobody in India goes to bed hungry. As of now, Feeding India provides over 150,000 nutritious meals to the underprivileged every day. In April 2020, Feeding India ran one of the largest food distribution drives in the world during the first wave of COVID, and distributed 78 million meals to daily wagers across the length and breadth of the country. During the second wave of COVID-19, Feeding India was again the first to act. We were able to source over 9,000 oxygen concentrators and distributed them for free to government hospitals across the country. This helped save millions of lives during one of the worst humanitarian crises faced by India in the recent times. We’re innovating hard to make last-mile delivery carbon neutral, to eliminate the use of plastic packaging, create meaningful opportunities in the gig economy, and to feed our country’s ever-growing appetite for high-quality, affordable, and hygienic food, one delivery at a time!

He might have lost his eyesight but hasn't lost his vision. Meet Bhavesh Bhatia, the founder of Sunrise Candles. Born in a small room in Mahabaleshwar and raised by a single mother, he grew up knowing two things i.e. struggle and strength. When he slowly began losing his eyesight in his teens, people told him life would get darker from here. Instead, he decided to create light for others. From starting with selling candles on a cart in Mahabaleshwar to helping 10,000 visually impaired people find employment with his venture, it is business as usual for Bhavesh.

His mom used to call him ‘Chaar Diwaari’ because of his staying cooped up in his room - headphones on - working obsessively on his dream of being a full-time producer and songwriter. Today, the world knows him by that name for exactly the same reason. Garv Taneja A.K.A. Chaar Diwaari didn’t wait for a big label to sign him on. Instead, he worked with what he had. His room is his studio. His locality is his muse. His lack of privilege is his privilege. The craziness of the world, the blaring horns and screaming aggression from the streets outside, the ignition of a Chetak starting up against the odds, whatever life bounces at him, he bounces back - with a track. Bursting through into the music scene, changing the rules of the game, blazing a new trail - it’s business as usual for Chaar Diwaari.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Not many individuals get this but then there’s Deval. Turning a proverb into a paycheck. Mechanical Engineer on paper but he didn’t like taking notes. Chose product design over placements. Chose passion over profession. Nights in a home garage in Indore, visor down, and nothing but scrap, sparks and his spirit for company, Deval wasn’t waiting for permission, he was working with what he had. The garage became a studio. The city became a catalog. In the process, trash became treasure. 20,000 kilos of trash later, his pieces are on a world tour themselves. Made in Indore but delivered to the US, Italy, Singapore and the UAE. Miracle for some, business as usual for Deval.

More than 6,500 delivery partners and their families now have access to essential government schemes and benefits, unlocking over ₹150 crore in entitlements that strengthen their wellbeing. To reach even more Zomato and Blinkit delivery partners, we've partnered with Haqdarshak to simplify the documentation and registration process through a series of in-person Government Scheme Facilitation Camps across India. The first two camps, held in Bengaluru and Mumbai, helped 620+ partners register for multiple central and state coverages, including health, life and personal accident insurance. We'll be building on this momentum with upcoming camps in Delhi and Pune!
