Nice submission. Great music.

Nice procedural levels, the racoon is pretty cute! player hitbox make it weird when you stick to an upper wall. Good job! :)

Liked the general vibe you were going for, though it didn't feel like there was really much benefit to risking longer runs. Since all the biscuits were permanent, there would be no difference between 1 really long run and 3 runs a third of the length, mechanically.

Gonna be real, there was a lot of stuff that made it very hard to enjoy the game. The art was really rough at best, the text was annoying to read practically everywhere, I tried to get the multiplier permanent upgrade and it didn't stay nor gave me any multiplier, the magnet permanent upgrade did seem to work but it had such a small range that it was useless, the sound was very loud with no way to turn it down (and the gunshot effect for when you want to leave a level????), and the sound swapping between scenes was very harsh. Think a lot of these things could be fixed at the least though, especially things like the text and sound mixing and upgrade issues. Props for the hand drawn art and custom made music though. I hope you guys are able to keep improving going forward.

This was pretty fun, the store really gave me incentive to try riskier moves in the level so I could afford new items. The UI on the store is a bit hard to read but doesn't hold up the game from being enjoyable!

thank you :)

Oh I love it!!! The music especially is wonderful, the art could use some more love but it’s great nonetheless!

Developer

thanks :)

Great job! The art is really neat in a wonderfully wonky way, and the music is on point!

Developer

thank you :)

Ok, I like the music loop, the 'animations' I gotta say have their own style, and if the whole game were like that, with the floors and everything, it would be really nice. But anyway, it doesn’t take away from the game. I mean, 7 days are 7 days hahaha. Good work btw, I like it :)

Developer(+1)

We didn't have enough time for the artist to do all the art so I ended up doing some (like the floors, walls, dart and money sprites) so that's why they aren't as good  but I'm glad you still enjoyed the game

Despite the mprovements that could be done with art, this game is really really fun! I love how it encaptures the theme of risk by allowing you to use different abilities from weapons to expanding your moveset, and also by allowing you to escape the prison whenever you want, it really adds to the risk factor without frustrating the player too much.

Also the composer did a wonderful job with the music, I was motivated to keep playing also thanks to it.

Developer

thanks for the good feedback :)

Awesome game! Absolutely love the sprite work and the various mechanics! Even though it gets a bit trivial once you unlock the taser! Also the shop needs just a bit more improvement imo, but either way, loved it!

Developer(+1)

thanks you're definitely not the first person to mention the shop and I promise I've learnt my lesson on the shop for my next game lol (appreciate you playing my game :)

Great game!!Loved the game, the art looks neat, especially the raccoon. Would have liked some sound feedback while collecting cookies, and already alot of people have mentioned the shop UI so i wont add that lol. But still, a splendid effort, and fits the theme perfectly.

Developer(+1)

there is a sound when collecting cookies however the file is way too quiet and practically unhearable unless you're really looking out for it lol but thanks for playing

Hi! What a solid soundtrack! It sounds epic and cool!

Also, really liked the character - raccoon is both cute and charismatic!

The shop was a little all over the place (I see it was already mentioned before) - but the game overall is very nice!

Developer(+1)

thanks and yep the shop has been mentioned a lot definitely will not be using those colours in a place where you need to read things again after this

This has a really solid foundation and is a compelling experience.

Some thoughts / questions:

- are the guards on predetermined paths or completely random? for a stealth type game either predictability or a mitigant would be greatly appreciated

- the UI design could use some enhancements - color, positioning, consistency. I had trouble navigating the store.

- i think this is a rogue-like? making the first level a tutorial was a good call, but it took me a bit to figure out how to even start the game before seeing the controls in the tutorial.

Regardless, the pieces are present and with some polish this will be an absolutely solid experience. Keep up the good work!

Developer

1. The guards have random movement but cannot go too far from their spawn point

2.The UI positioning is hard because where it is is different on EVERY SCREEN and I have no idea how to normalise it for all screens and lots of people have mentioned the shop I tried to make it better by adding a translucent background to the text but it must not have helped that much (if you know how to fix either of these that would be greatly appreciated)

3)I am going to add controls to the description I've just not had much time between trying other people's games

If it were Godot I'd be able to help with the UI stuff. But, I just reloaded the game and see that it is Unity.

I tried!

Congratulations again for entering your first jam!!

making games is so tough and just having something here is incredible. I absolutely adore the character animation (it's giving fantastic mr fox)

I think the shop screen is a little too much for the eyes, and I think so more feedback when you get caught would go a long way

Amazing first ever game though!!

Developer

thanks I'll keep this in mind next time I make something :)

Reminds me of South Park graphics lol!

I really like how the tutorial is written on the ground..these are muuuch more readable and easy to focus on!

Great Job

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback :)

Was a fun little game. When the guards turn around, perhaps the view-cone should slowly rotate towards that direction, as right now they just flip - and you have no chance of knowing if they will see you. Good work nonetheless.

Developer

If I continue making the game after the jam I will change it but thanks for playing :)

That was fun, although on the the very first try the room appeared completely sealed, with no way to advance. The only guard was in a separate room, not connected to the one with the racoon.

Developer

it's randomly generated but there should be an exit that's odd if you encounter anything like that again can you send me a screenshot of it please?

Developer

just realised you were talking about the tutorial that's just there to make sure you know the controls before playing
