Freshly Made Sketches 531

Hey all!  Today we've got a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and Linda is our hostess.  My take on the sketch was heavily influenced by my friend Judy who made a card last week that made me realize my stamping stash needed bunnies.  Cute bunnies.   So I did a little shopping...

I arranged the bunnies in an approximation of two of the squares on the sketch and sponged some clouds on the background because otherwise it looked quite plain.  As for the the third square on the sketch I die-cut a small pierced square that I sponged with a few clouds and added a little sentiment.  I stuck that square under the bunny on the left.

Thanks for stopping by!  Check out our Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the inspiration from our design team.  I hope you'll join us!

CAS(E) This Sketch 366 Meets Fusion

It's that time again when I get to combine the challenges from CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion into one card.  This time around I had some layers and a fun Easter gnome to play with.

Those gnomes are so cute with their bunny ears, but I didn't find anything in my stash that I could use to approximate those ears so I had to satisfy myself by making a "regular" gnome in soft pastel colors with some polka dots thrown in for good measure.  The soft colors at Cupcake Inspirations inspired my color choices.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please play along with us at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion!

CAS(E) This Sketch 316 Meets Fusion

Hello!  Today is one of those days when I combine the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch, designed by Brian, with the inspiration at Fusion.  I settled on an Easter theme - per the Fusion challenge and started looking online for some digital images.  I found one that was perfect!

I colored the focal image with the bright colors inspired by the colorful eggs and used a very subtle pattern on the triangular layer.  I had found some old Stampin' Up! paper in my stash that had a white on white design.  I never had much use for it (which explains why it is taking up space in my craft room) but the simple design was perfect for what I wanted for this card.  The only extra thing I did was draw a fine line in black along edge of the angled layer just to add some contrast.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you are inspired by the challenges at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion to play along with us!

CAS(E) This Sketch 265 Meets Fusion

Easter challenges abound this week so it was a no brainer to dig out an old set from my stash with a bunny on it and put it to work for the CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion challenges.

I rotated the sketch and a bunny became my circle.  :)  I've actually seen a few wreaths at TJ Maxx and Marshalls that are very similar to that bunny one in the Fusion inspiration and I've been tempted to buy one!  But for now I have to be satisfied with my floppy eared bunny!  There's an Easter challenge at Global Design Project so this fits right in there.

Thanks for stopping by!  There are some great cards to inspire you over at CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion so I hope to see you in one (or both) of those galleries.

Freshly Made Sketches 282

There's a bug going around my office, like the bubonic plague actually, and it has one by one touched everyone that works there.  This past weekend it was my turn so I haven't felt like doing any crafting these last few days.  But our Freshly Made Sketches challenge is like a call to arms so like a trooper I hauled myself into my craft room and colored up a bunny rabbit.  Our sketch this week is designed by the supremely talented Cécile, one of the five people I know who live in France, and incidentally the only one I have never met in person.  Maybe someday we will!

My big-eared bunny rabbit is, in this case, an Easter bunny who has indulged in one too many colorful chocolate eggs.  I love how he has this look of "I couldn't possibly eat another one!"  There's an Easter bunny challenge going on at The Paper Players so that gave me an excuse to color up this fellow.

You are going to be seriously wowed and amazed by the inspiration from our Freshly Made Sketches design team this week.  I hope you are inspired to join us!

colourQ 131

Since Easter is just around corner, it would be remiss of me to not make a card to celebrate.  Since I was a kid I've associated Easter with warm temperatures (hinting at the summer to come) and lovely colors (hinting that the drab colors of winter are behind us).  Luckily the challenge this week at colourQ was chock-a-block full of springy colors and gave me the perfect opportunity to show off my meager stash of Easter-appropriate stamps!

I had actually forgotten about this cute little bunny stamp, but I came across it as I was desperately searching for something I could use that would be even vaguely Easter-like.  I especially like the innocent, wide-eyed expression on his cute little bunny face.  And those ears are beyond adorable.

Actually his ears remind me of the first time I got a look at a real bunny.  When I was a kid, one of my friends had a pet bunny and up until I saw her pet, my only experience with rabbits involved Saturday morning Looney Tunes.  I thought all rabbits looked like Bugs Bunny!  Imagine my surprise when I got a look at my friend's round ball of fluff with ears that did not, in fact, stand up but instead were small and lay flat against his little head.  Oh, the disappointment!

Anyway, enough of this little trip down memory lane.  You should now head on over to colourQ and check out the inspiration from the design team.  Once again, there's some amazing inspiration for you.  I hope you have a chance to play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Matchbox Treats

We are having about six (or seven) people over for Easter dinner tomorrow, so I decided to make everyone an Easter favor.
I made these using some more of the Spring Showers (or Spring Flowers) retired designer paper.  I filled them with Hershey's nuggets wrapped in more designer paper.  The center of the flower is a build-a-brad (and now I'm just about out of them {drat}).  I had so much fun making them!

We had some glorious weather today!  I think it's going to be just as wonderful tomorrow so we are going to have our Easter dinner outside on the patio.  I spent quite a bit of time today cleaning the patio furniture and getting the cushions out of storage.  Hopefully Mother Nature will not let us down!

Happy Easter everyone!
