Paper Players 58

I don't think I've ever done a challenge this early in the morning!  I don't usually find my way into my stamp room until late afternoon or early evening, but I'm avoiding housework this rainy morning!  And what better way to do that than to check out the latest challenges and create something!

When I first saw this week's challenge at the Paper Players I didn't think I had the right stamps to be able to participate.
But as I checked out my stamps to see if I could find something to work with I found the It's a Wrap Occasions stamps (that look vaguely like band-aids!) and found one that was perfect for the challenge.

Those adorable apples with the A+ grade are just right!  Once I settled on them I decided to make a favor box.  I love making boxes and it's been ages since I've done one.  The catalog had some nice designs like this one, so I copied it.  I think this would be so cute for a kid to find in his or her lunch box on the first day of school.  A sweet treat along with a sweet message!  What a great way to start the school year off!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Color Lab Challenge 28

It's Thursday and time for another challenge from the ColorLab!

It's nearly Valentine's Day and this color challenge was the perfect way to incorporate another adorable Valentine treat!  I came across this tutorial recently from My Therapy, My Creations and knew that it would be perfect for these colors.

How cute is this?  And my version sports a three-inch circle so you can put quite a bit of booty in there!

Color Lab Challenge 25

It's Thursday and time for another challeng from the Color Lab!

I'm not sure what's going on in the challenge world this week, but this is the second time I've encountered Pacific Point.  I've said before that it's not one of my favorite colors, but I think I secretly like using it!  At first glance it seems kind of brash, but then it begins to grow on you and you realize that it's really a wonderful color that goes with so many others.  Every time I use it I think "that wasn't so bad!"

This week, I turned to my favorite favor, the matchbox, and embellished it with a Pacific Point flower adorned with some Old Olive leaves from my absolute favorite stamp set:  French Foliage.

Color Lab Challenge 18

It's Thursday and time for another challenge from the Color Lab!

Another fabulous bunch of fall colors.  This week, I thought it would be fun to NOT make a card!  I've been thinking of what I wanted to make for Thanksgiving favors and I think I have found just the thing.  What do you think?

I have a fascination with these matchboxes.  They're so simple to make and always a big hit when you give them away.  And of course, I found myself reaching for my French Foliage stamp set {again}.  I can't seem to stay away from it.

Color Lab Challenge 16

It's Thursday and time for another challenge from the Color Lab!

This week, our challenge was to use Basic Black, Peach Parfait, and Daffodil Delight.  When I started to put my card together, I thought "wow!"  This is a seriously awesome color combo.  The Basic Black provides a stunning contrast to the Daffodil Delight and Peach Parfait.  And the layout from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge really makes everything look good!

I also managed to squeeze in another favor box!  It's been a while since I've made one of the Ghirardelli boxes, but it's always been a favorite.  They are so simple and you don't need to fill them with Ghirardelli chocolate.  I usually put Hershey's Kisses in mine.

Color Throwdown 116 Favor Box

I seem to be on a favor box kick lately.  I always seem to want to make favor boxes around the holidays to give away.  I must be channeling my inner Santa!  I had seen this cute matchbox a while back and knew I wanted to case it.  Then the Color Throwdown challenge this week was to use Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla and I figured the two went together.

I changed the box from the matchbox to the Sizzix Box #2 and I went to the vault and used the Wintergreen designer paper (always one of my all-time favorite christmas papers).

Here's a funny bit about this box:  I attached the holly leaves with dimensionals, but I got a little carried away.  The green belly band is designed to slide off of the box so that you can open it.  But I put so many dimensionals on the holly that I attached them to the red box, making it impossible to remove the belly band!  Oops!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have time to stamp today!

Curtain Call 50 Thanksgiving Treats

I've had this idea in my head for quite some time to make some nice Thanksgiving favors.  I always host Thanksgiving dinner at my house and I've always felt like I should have some kind of favor to give my guests.

Today, the Curtain Call color challenge made me sit down and work on something.

Nice fall colors, wouldn't you say?  And it's rather appropriate, since today was very fall-like here.  All of a sudden, the muggy weather has disappeared and today seems to have brought a hint of the cooler temperatures to come.

I love these leaves that I used here.  I stamped them all with Versamark then embossed them with clear embossing powder.  In real life they're quite shiny!  Now, I just have to figure out what kind of treat I'm going to fill the bags with.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have time to stamp today!
