Ok now change of pace now !!! we have Mr TJ in "Las Vegas"in the early 70's doing his thing it seems that he must have gone off the stage and into the audience a few times as you can hear by all his "Hello Where You From" bits !!....It would be great if anybody out there who has seen his show in "Las Vegas" or even better was there when this recording was made could fill us in on some details..it would be a very interesting comment !!
This is "Tom Jones" at his best his voice is spot on and a faultless performance of his hits as well as songs of the day...

We have a double set of L/P's from TJ....some of the tracks are on other L/P's that are posted on here but there are some that are not hence my posting it...Its "Tom" singing most of his Hits and then some !!.....The tracks are not in the order as printed below but they are all there so all you "Tom Jones" fans out there enjoy Tom at his best !!!...

Its 1966 and Mr Tom Jones has been to America Met "Elvis" done all the Major American TV programs and this is his second L/P....All tracks are original not a hit or a standard in sight !! with the exception of "More" which seems to me out of place !!...Plenty of info on the back cover !!
It shows just how "Tom" earned the Title of the L/P ATOMIC !!!.

Its over 50 years since this L/P was made and it only seems like yesterday that "Tom Jones" raced up the chats with "Its Not Unusual"....I think that when this was recorded he had the title hit and his style was not fully developed into what we now know....So because the "Green Green Grass Of Home" was CW influenced away he went down that road....And he makes a very good job of all the tracks and you can defiantly hear the "Tom Jones" of today !!...with "Mohair Sam & Detroit City" !!

It's a pity that most of the London venues like "The Cafe De Paris" and the above "Talk Of The Town" are not now as they used to be in the 50'- 80's and maybe a few years beyond...hosting all the great singers of the time!!...because its great to hear the interaction of a couple of hundred people that you get with this "Tom Jones" performance !!....Ok time's a - changing and now days we have the "Stadiums" and "Arena's" that hold thousands of people and they do have some cracking concerts there and folks do get carried away with the spectacle and do have a great time...but I do miss the intimacy of a small concert hall or as the above mention venues were like to go to for a night out to hear you favourite singers !!....Ok slight moan over back to the L/P this was recorded in 1967 so I think that Tom was at the beginning of his career he certainly is in great voice and sings his hits to date !!....I was surprised at the choice of "My Yiddisha Momme" because usually that is sung by a female vocalist...good on him to have a go and he does a good job with it !!

Once again the record company has produced a compilation of "Tom's" Greatest Hits ??(Dubious)....True they have included most of them but amongst the tracks are some cover versions of popular songs that were hits for other people and some that might be "B"sides to his Hits so I suppose they could be classed as hits because they were "The Other Side" !!.....why oh why do record companies do that !!...I'm sure that Tom could have filled this double L/P with all of his hits !!....He's had plenty to choose from during his recording time !!

1966 time !!....Tom Jones at the beginning of his singing career...Sooooooooo let's have him do some standards !!...That seemed to be the norm for most of the popular singer's just starting out in the 60's !!!!....and Surprise ! Surprise ! most of them did a good job with them !!! Including this L/P !!....It shows the potential that Tom had !! and it is proven to this time 2023 !!! 57 years later !!!
