The show is great and its a shame it didn't get another few seasons. The film Serenity at least brings some closure. The show makes more sense when viewed in the correct order.
This episode was decent enough, a good 8/10 , but people need to seriously calm down, nothing in it is great or masterpiece level, it is just an average TV episode, like an episode of criminals minds or an episode of Buffy, good TV but not like Legendary shows quality ( breaking Bad.. x files , sopranos) So when i read all the 10/10 reviews its weird and funny at the same time... I dont really understand, the acting is fine but not at all brillant, plot is basic like in a good cop show you watch on sunday with your dad. Directing is basic. A show like this is 7/10 on IMDb usualy, i Hope im wrong with the next episodes but I dont think so. Its a good show to watch in the afternoon.
"The Train Job" is a full of action episode of "Firefly". The cynical Mal proves that has heart with his final decision. The funniest moment of the show is when Crow tells that will hunt Mal down to hell. My vote is eight.

- TriviaThe two-hour Serenity (2002) was originally intended as the pilot for the show. The FOX network however decided not to air it as they wanted a pilot with a more action-packed feel to it. With exactly one weekend to write a new pilot, executive producers Joss Whedon and Tim Minear wrote The Train Job (2002), which appeared first on the show. A slightly retooled version of "Serenity" was later showed as an origins story after Firefly (2002) had been canceled.
- GoofsWhen Serenity leaves the planet, its running lights are switched: the port lights are green when they should be red and the starboard lights are red when they should be green.
- Quotes
Jayne: You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with 'til ya understand who's in ruttin' command here. Now we're finishing this deal,
[breathing becomes a little more labored]
Jayne: and then maybe, *maybe* we'll come back for those morons who got themselves caught. You can't change that by getting all... bendy.
Wash: All what?
Jayne: [starts swaying] You've got the - the light from the console... keep you, lift you up. They shine like...
[starts grabbing at the air like he's trying to catch something]
Jayne: little angels...
[Jayne falls flat on his face]
Wash: Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?
Simon: I told him to sit down.
- Alternate versionsThe intended order differs from the released order with the 2-hour pilot 'Serenity' and the season finale 'Objects in Space' being released in the middle of the show run.
