Silly Sunday (?) Photos: It's All About the GIFs

Happy Weekend to you all!

This is what my Labor Day weekend has been like:

Rather oxymoronic, right? I have done very little, today at least. I guess that's what extended holidays are for? Maybe it's a mom thing, but I always line up a gazillion projects to do on long weekends, like an extra ten hours one weekend is going to make some amazing difference. And I usually don't get things done because I'm overwhelmed and like, "Forget it! I'll just lay on the ground and graze grass."

Yesterday I did do our shopping and when we finally finished, this is what I felt like:

This is how editing is going right now:

It's actually not that bad. I'm finishing up the developmental stuff and am getting to the point of deciding to move on, which feels a little like the GIF above. But at least I'm making progress.

This monkey knows Jedi mind tricks. You now really want to eat peanuts or bananas.

This is a cute one - it takes a little time to start, so just keep watching!

And two cute, non-GIF puns:

This past week has been crazy, with trauma and tragedy the world over, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed this next week goes so much better for everyone, everywhere. And hopefully you found a little something to help you smile in this post.

Best wishes for a new week!!

Silly Saturday Photos: Pretty Crocodiles

Happy Weekend!

I hope the week has gone well and you can look forward to a calm and relaxing few days off. Or, perhaps you want a wild and exciting fun time. Whatever your wishes, I hope the weekend meets your expectations!

Following a very busy week, I am definitely ready for some time off. I have been reading Fearless Writing and am identifying with Kenower's observations. I haven't had time to edit during the week, but last weekend I edited several chapters. I've also been completing the exercises at the end of the chapters in Kenower's book and brainstorming on new stories. I'm starting to think about writing without dreading it or experiencing the self-loathing I've attached to my lack of production and amazingly maintain my motivation to create. That's progress.

This week I actually found some funny pictures worthy of sharing. I hope you enjoy them!

Doing home visits in a neighboring county this week I ran into swarms of butterflies, which I believe are part of this years Monarch Butterfly migration. Sadly, I can't count how many I killed with the car. And the birds were picking them off, too. It's a wonder any actually make it to their destination. In my defense, I did try to avoid them, once I realized they weren't grasshoppers.  I won't actively try to kill anything, but I don't feel too bad if I accidentally run over a few grasshoppers.

Speaking of grasshoppers...

Said no squirrel ever!

Such cute puns!

Did any of the photos tickle your funny bone? Or at least give you a chuckle? I'm partial to the patient squirrel. I have a love/hat relationship with squirrels. They're awfully cute, but frustrate me to no end. Almost as much as the local bunnies. The chameleon is a close second.

Have a great weekend!

Silly Saturday Photos: Assassin Turtles

First off, Happy Weekend!!

Secondly, I'm so sorry! I didn't realize until Sunday night I'd not made a post for last week. I weighed going ahead and writing one up, but decided to just wait for this week's post. However, I'm not going to let not posting become a habit again. It was just a really busy weekend!

We're lucky because there's actually funny photos! I hope you enjoy the pickings this week. :)

Actually, not very LOL at all!

Boy 2 is begging to get  a Leopard Gecko. They are cute, aren't they?

The boys were asking me what you put the "rectangles in to hear them, like in Guardians of the Galaxy." Took me a bit to realize they were talking about cassette tapes and tape players. Egads, but I'm getting old!

Puns!

Photos this week came from a variety of places - the ones not marked came off of icanhascheeseburger or pinterest (which means they could be from anywhere.)

I personally liked the turtles, especially the one threatening a "mostly slow" death.

Have a great week and see you next weekend!

Silly Saturday Photos: Wolverine Kitty

Happy (late) Weekend!

How did your week go?

I'll admit, my week was pretty interesting. If you've been on Twitter, you'll already know that I tried to cut off my thumb with a mandolin slicer. The urgent care doctor glued the skin back down, but the glue is starting to come off and it doesn't look good at all. I can't tell if it's infected, or if it just looks gross.

I bought and read a book about writing short stories by James Scott Bell. I want to get back into short stories, and the book was really helpful. Sadly, I haven't actually written anything yet. I've been working, cooking and editing when I can. I have a journal, though, and I'm working on one story idea a day. Eventually I should find a story I want to write!

Well, let's see this week's photos! I actually saw some that were funny.

My dogs are so old, they only wish they could go for so many walks.

Every single time!!

Who knew Sauron was a girl.

The likeness is uncanny!

A punny joke!

My favorite is the Wolverine cat! It's so funny!

Have a lovely week and we'll see you next weekend!

Silly Saturday Photos: A Froze Nose

Surprise!!

Happy Saturday!

I missed another post, and decided to just switch days instead of waiting a full two more weeks. Who knows, I might move the post to Saturday all the time, so I can stay up late finding photos and not worry about having to be to work the next day.

Over the last several weeks I've made several decisions. The first is to avoid reading about US politics, which means steadfastly avoiding scrolling through any social media. Pretty soon we're going to have world leaders in twitter fights with Donald Trump and I just don't want to be a witness to it.

I've organized my home life to within an inch of  my sanity. I have a financial budget, an food and exercise plan and a weekly cleaning schedule. I'm hoping by doing a little bit of cleaning all through the week I'll have bigger blocks of time to edit on the weekends. Then I can write new stuff during the week in short-time bursts in a handwritten notebook. This is my first week trying it out, and it's looking good going into the weekend. There's very little cleaning to do, and I can conceive of editing all day on Sunday. So exciting!!

Anyway - I'm ready for new photos, so perhaps you are, too! Let's go!

And a pun.

I think my favorite is the owl. It's how I've felt this week.

Did you see one you liked better than the others? Tell me in the comments!

Funny Friday Photos: Kinky Camels

Happy Friday to one and all!

So, I ended up taking a little, unannounced vacation from blogging for a month.

Sorry about that...

I don't think I'm really blogging, anyway. I'm just kind sharing things I find funny every couple of weeks. I wonder if I'd have any readership if I actually started writing posts again. I fondly reminisce about how interconnected I used to be with other writers and in the writing community, but I don't think I have the energy to try to renew those connections, or make new ones. It takes so much work and time to engage on social media, and I'm shorter on time now than I was before I moved. Sounds like an excuse, but it's just my truth.

Strangely, after moving, I let go of expectations, and pretty much dropped any sense of need or responsibility to writing. Over the last couple of months I've been contemplating how much of a commitment I'm ready to make to writing again and what would be doable within the structure of my current life. Maybe that's what I should write a post about. *rolls eyes*

Anyway, here are some funny photos! It's been so long, let's just start fresh with new ones.

Their faces are perfect!

Of course you do!

I love these memes.

Ah, yes. Now I truly feel old.

Looks innocent enough to me...

I love Vlad, but the kinky camels have my vote this week.

Do you have a favorite? If so, share it in the comments!

Funny Friday Photos: Fight Club for Writers

Very Happy Friday
and
a Happy Veteran's day to the Veterans out there.

I will admit that I'm having a bit of a crisis since the Presidential election wrapped up. It's not so much that Donald Trump was elected, but what it means that he got elected by the people of the USA. I used to tell my children that, as Americans, we stand up for equality and social justice and protect the weak and vulnerable. Apparently, for about half of the US, this is not a true statement. This election has shown us the true face of the American public, and about half of them, and apparently most of them white people, feel it's a good idea to have a racist, sexist, misogynistic man as the leader of our country. Abraham Lincoln is probably turning in his grave. Or crypt... Wherever he's at. All I know is I'm disappointed. And not because I was a huge Clinton fan, either. We need a better way to get presidential nominees. And a better way of electing than the electoral college.

But, I don't want to go on about it anymore. So, let's see if we can lighten up a little with some funny photos? This batch has a lot of signage. I'm really enjoying words lately. I've been making a real effort to work on Through the Fairy Ring, and I'm starting to work on ideas for my next project. Slow going, as usual, but I'm glad to have my interest back.

Anyway - to the photos!

I don't think they're paying enough.

They're at a discount because they have no self-esteem left.

Where I live now is the birthplace of Kool-Aid. I love Kool-Aid, but hate the Kool-Aid man.
My boys and I make jokes about the "Oh, Yeah!!" all the time. I mean, couldn't they come up with a better slogan?

Well, off we go for another weekend!

My favorite is the Senior Citizen sign. It's the idea of old people being vacuumed. Very quirky visual in my mind. I see some of my clients and imagine their reaction to people chasing them with vacuums.

Which is your favorite?

Funny Friday Photos: Belugas with 'Tude

Happy Friday!

Below is a beluga with attitude. A bad one. Maybe  it's hangry. I don't know, but I think it's good it can't get to those little kids.

Did you know beluga whales can be that aggressive? They always have seemed to be serene, until now. Won't be looking at belugas the same way again.

Let's see some new photos. It's definitely an eclectic mix this week!

My kids know I'm the one with compassion for their nightmares, so guess who always gets woken up in the middle on the night. Scares the bejeebers out of me each time, too.

So...there's cereal down aisle sixteen?

The carrot would win. I'm not that cool.

There is a problem here.

It's a shame to use such a nicely painted can!

Could have fooled me.

A pun, which I may have used before, but is funny enough for a repeat.

This is such a weird group of photos. No animals except the mean beluga and a human. My fears of using something illegally is really making it tough to find funny pictures.

I guess I'll pic kIron Can as my favorite. I continue to be fascinated by the bully beluga, too.

What's your favorite? Anyone have any writing news to share?

I apologize this is such a brief post, but for some reason I am so exhausted and ready for bed.
Have a great evening/Friday/weekend!
