Login issue

Opened a case, and a keep in contact account. Saved login in password manager. Worked. 1 day later... "Your login attempt was unsuccessful". And don't respond that i should have written down the login info because i did. This is a technical issue with your website or a staff issue.

I can give some feedbacks…

I have reported something and created an account to wait for updates. The account didn’t work anymore the following day as it says that the password was wrong. So many users are having the same issue I can read here, so I don’t understand, why don’t they fix this problem?

It would be also worth to know if the report sent is actually sent to law enforcement or discarded directly from Crimestopper volunteers for any reason… at least people won’t write here that nothing is being done by YOU, if they know that you have sent it to the police… since the responsibility of “doing nothing” won’t be in you…

Nothing happens

Nothing happens. I've been giving information about a Nazi who is threatening to hurt people, owns weapons and he is ongoing. Nothing has been done, and he is continuing to do that.

Utterly pointless

Utterly pointless. I have been told the Police are too busy to bother with any of the information submitted. I’ve been giving intel on a drug dealer for a year now and still nothing has been done.

Your vital information on a drug dealer does make a difference to the local community in a number of different ways. Just because no visible action has been taken against the drug dealer, they may well be monitoring activities in other ways. Some investigations can take years to build up a case so continuing to report illegal activities in your area can help build a strong case.

What is the point of Crimestopers

An ineffectual service for genuine conscientious people. You might as well ring the police direct. But you have to get yourself mentally ready for that. I understand why they have such a poor rating.

Crimestoppers offers people an anonymous safe route to report crime without having to make formal police statements or having to testify in court.

Absolute waste of time

Absolute waste of time. Reported an assault, and opted to keep in touch with them & then tried to log in into the portal & the repsonse was "Your login attempt was not successful".

We ask individuals to keep a note of their password as a number of people do make errors when logging back in. Best regards, Crimestoppers

What a waste of time

What a waste of time, why even bother to volunteer to do this service. Tried to report police corruption and they can do nothing, they can only report this to the police who Im making a report against and as expected get no reply. They even ask for a donation on their website, donation for what ? Not even worth one star.

It is the Police Standards Department that are also corrupt, they refuse to reply to my accusations and my extremely good evidence, no Hampshire police department will reply, all corrupt with no one to report them too, this is why I went to crime stoppers and you can do nothing, the Police Standards Department have no standards, they all stick together covering up each other’s crime. Please allow me to send my extremely good evidence to crime stoppers, you will probably not allow me, bloody disgusting. My evidence will take no longer than one hour for you to look and listen to as most of my evidence consists of voice recordings. I have the name and evidence against the man behind all this corruption which is why I get NO replies

Crimestoppers is a small UK based charity. Crimestoppers exists to take anonymous information about crime and pass this information on to the relevant authorities. If you wish to report a corrupt police officer, this can be reported online or by phone with Information regarding corrupt officers managed by the Professional standards team.
If the police have any questions regarding the information sent - they will be in touch via the system if there are any further questions. The current system is very rudimentary, however keeping the password safe, ensures ease of logging back into the system when required.

Reporting website menu’s useless

The website has drop down menus that do not cover all crimes
I had a serious crime to report which started in 2022 but the date drop down menu does not allow for the date to be put in manually. Also other drop down menus are not giving the correct information

I have just read the answer to my review. The fact that it has taken SIX months to receive any reaction from the police says it all about the standards our police force gives its citizens.
With regard to the telephone number I have a hearing defect so my ability to use a telephone is extremely limited. So where to those with disabilities go?

Gave info - arrests and charged - prison - No REWARD

Gave info, 2 was arrested - one remanded - caught with a large amount of class A, the other person was in court last week, No reward !! so promise of a reward is a lie, all ths happened months ago- still no reward

Date of experience: 06 March 2024

If a caller wishes to claim a reward, when information regarding a crime or a suspect is given, request a reward code. Other people may have also provided information on a local suspect and also be aware that the suspect may have been under surveillance for some time. During on going investigations, minimal information, if any, is given by the investigating force.

Absolute waste of time

Absolute waste of time. Reported a guy for having guns & knives!! The unfriendly arrogant, couldn’t care less moron on the phone, didn’t even ask for the guys address. Maybe when someone is shot or stabbed by this guy something will be done, or maybe not!!!

Not a great experience.

Got through quickly but the woman was very off hand from the start, to the point that I just hung up before I actually got to speak about why i had called. To give me such a bad vibe for calling is just unacceptable! Even as a volunteer she should be mindful that people ring in extremely vulnerable situations or people with serious information to give. Come on Crimestoppers are you actually regulating these calls? This lady has let you down.

We are very sorry that you had this experience interacting with our charity.

We take great care to be as clear as possible in our messaging that Crimestoppers can only take information about crime anonymously and pass it to the relevant law enforcement agency.

Unfortunately we are unable to support victims of crime - we do have a list of other organisations on our website that may help if you have been a victim of crime.

Complete waste of time

Complete waste of time. They do not make an effort to understand the cases and require a burden of evidence so high it becomes impossible to demonstrate anything. I don't see what purpose this organisation serves.

Very unfair reviews here

Very unfair reviews here. Over 90% of their calls are from business competitor, angry ex wives and malicious calls. They have an excellent system to vet these and many reviews here claiming they won’t take action as there is no evidence. We do not live in a dystopia and crime needs evidence

Account doesn’t work

Twice now I’ve reported a situation and opted for the keep in contact option where they give you a username. Both times I was unable to log in with this username and my password just a couple of days later to check if there were any questions or updates.

If the police have all the information they require regarding a case - then the case can be closed. We understand people would prefer more detailed information however the system relies on forces to update the outcomes.

-The Anti-Corruption line for the Met is a Con dont bother using it

-The Anti-Corruption line for the Met police is a con. They take the bare minimum details and then say someone will contact you in 6 days. They never do. Mainly because the phone back group is run by the Met so 1. They lie that this service is independent and 2. They arent interested in investigating corruption in the Met

Waste of time money

Waste of time money.
Who are these clowns! Make the Police look good and that's saying something. Unhelpful, unfriendly, uncooperative.

If they ceased to exist nobody would miss them.

Complete waste of time

Complete waste of time. I reported a genuine situation to the Crimestoppers which was happening every Thursday evening and involved a child. I opted to use the anonymous login option but within 12 hours was being told my login was unsuccessful. Strikes me that either they are blocking my IP address which they claim they don't have access to or they are unwilling to challenge the person at this address and have therefore dismissed my genuine concerns outright. DON'T BOTHER WITH CRIMESTOPPERS.

All information we pass on is provided in good faith. We have no legal powers and no influence over how the police or other law enforcement agencies proceed. Our role is purely to give people an option to speak up about what they know without giving any personal details.
