Very disappointing experience with LOT…
Very disappointing experience with LOT Polish Airlines.
I travelled from Chicago to Split via Warsaw and arrived in Split on August 2 at 11:50 PM. My checked suitcase never arrived.
It has now been several days and WorldTracer still provides no useful information about the location or delivery of my baggage.
What is particularly frustrating is that staff at Split Airport were able to identify a distinctive feature of my suitcase — a red ribbon attached to it — yet I still cannot get clear information about where the suitcase is or when it will be sent to Split.
My PIR reference is SPULO10454.
I am currently in Croatia without my personal belongings and urgently need LOT Polish Airlines to locate the suitcase, confirm its current location and arrange its immediate transportation to Split.
LOT Polish Airlines, please take action and provide a concrete update instead of leaving a passenger without baggage and without information.
WORST AIRLINE EVER
WORST AIRLINE EVER. They lost our bags and completely screwed up our entire trip that was so expensive. They could care less too! No one in the whole stupid airplane was trying to get things done efficiently. I WOULD NEVER TELL ANYONE TO FLY WITH THEM!!! Awful service! DONT FLY WITH THEM!!!!!!
Horribke experience - lost watch
Horrible experience ! 🤮😡
This was heading back home!
Going to Skopje was also horrible.
1 hour transfer. With some delay you miss your connecting flight.
I was at the Warsaw airport together with my friend.
The flight from Skopje was one hour late. No information. “Ask in warchau” they said. We weren’t going to make our connecting flight to Brussels.
I asked the flight attendant what to do and she was going to inform. 30 min. Before landing we and a dozen other passengers, got instructions what to do.
In the end, they arranged for the plane to wait until we arrived. Not only our plane but at least 6 connection flights. So that seemed ok.
Being late seems to be a regular problem.
We got the information:
We had to scan our passports at the kiosk, then go to the transfer area,no customs and then to Gate N29.
Reality….
The scanner wasn’t working, so we went through passport control—losing more time—then ran to the transfer area, but we were required to go through customs. My friend was marrocan she had to go through drugscontrol. Only she nobody else. There, we had to put everything in bins for inspection.
The customs officer was talking with a passenger who had a bottle of alcohol with her. They laughed a little, and the bottle was put back in her bag, and she was allowed to take it with her home
My bag was completely emptied!
I said we had to catch our flight because it had been significantly delayed, and he replied while laughing Yeah, so?”
Then there was the bottle of alcohol I had with me. “You’re not allowed to bring that—it has to go in your checked luggage. You know that, right!” I said, “I only have carry-on luggage, and in Skopje they allowed me to bring one sealed bottle.” “No, not here.” That Discusting man was laughing in my face and while discussing he then put it in a bin. The bottle was completely sealed.
He’ll probably drink it himself! They are famous for doing it I heard later. Also cigarettes.
It’s disgusting that my gift was taken away, but not from a Polish woman. This is very unprofessional! Actually, we weren’t even supposed to go through customs—we’d already been checked in Skopje.
We had to rush to catch our flight again, so I grabbed my stuff and we ran to n29. There it was a flight to Bosnië. 🙄. The ladies when we asked for flight said uninterested “we do not know”, so we looked at the board and it was gate 1. Running again to that gate. My friend exhausted at arrival said that it was a bad organisation. That idiot woman of lot at the desk looked like a moron and told us to “measure time”! Can you imagine such a stupidity! We were sooo angry that we both shouted we had to “measure time”. The staff looked like uninterested bored robots ! To work for lot you have to be plain stupid I think!
At the plane I noticed my watch was missing.
All the bins were stacked against each other during our discussion so the watch must have been lying against the side, out of sight.
The flight attendant told me to contact “Found and Lost” since that’s where lost items go.
The watch is found. They informed after a few mails. Lot does not react to my claim. I have to pay a lot to get my watch back, so even there they are not correct. It is all the fault of lot we had to endure this Horrible experience and now the airport try to rip you off to get your own property back.
The flight attendant was nice the ground staff I would kick them all out!
Lot…. Do not take it.
Disgusting services.
Disgusting services.Their rating say it all.Only 1.6...they did not manage to handle my luggage which is missing after a short flight in Europe!!!
And still after 24 hours and so many flights arrived in Bucharest from Warsaw, still my luggage is not to be found!!!
Disgusting service!!!
Their excuses in high traffic!!!If you cannot manage it,change job,go gardening!!!
I am writing this to warn others
I am writing this to warn others about the severe operational disorganization and lack of accountability at LOT Polish Airlines. What started as a simple booking turned into a financial disaster costing me 300% of the original ticket price due to repeated mistakes on their end.
The Chain of Errors:
The Initial Mix-up: Their system incorrectly booked my flight for a Saturday when I was explicitly told I was flying on a Friday.
The First Fix: When I called to correct this to Friday, their system "fixed" it but accidentally moved my flight to Thursday.
The Second Fix: I called back immediately to correct the date again.
The Critical Failure: After further explanation from their staff, they admitted there was no flight available on the Friday I originally needed.
The Cost: Because of their error, I was forced to pay a massive change fee to move my ticket to the correct Saturday slot. I refused to pay this inflated fee, so I booked a completely new ticket with a different airline to ensure I could make my destination.
The Double Penalty: Because I did not board the original LOT flight (due to the confusion and my decision to book elsewhere), their system automatically cancelled my return ticket. Upon arriving at my destination, I was stranded with no way home. I was forced to purchase an entirely new, expensive last-minute ticket to return home.
The Verdict: I ended up paying three times the original cost:
Once for the original (botched) ticket.
Once for the emergency ticket to get to my destination.
Once for the emergency ticket to get home.
LOT Polish Airlines failed to verify flight availability, made multiple data entry errors in a single conversation, and penalized the passenger for their own incompetence by cancelling the return leg. They showed zero willingness to waive fees or offer compensation for the chaos they created. Avoid at all costs.
Ruined My Child’s Dream Trip to Disneyland—Incompetent Rebooking & Stealth Emails
I am writing this with a mix of absolute heartbreak and pure rage. We booked LOT Polish Airlines to take our child to Disneyland Paris (POZ > WAW > CDG). What was supposed to be a core childhood memory turned into a complete nightmare.
LOT canceled our initial flight from Poznań to Warsaw. Their solution? They rebooked us onto a flight that departed SEVEN HOURS AFTER our WAW > CDG flight had already taken off. How does a system automatically rebook a connection that lands after the onward flight leaves?
To top it off, they didn't send an urgent schedule alert. The notice was buried inside a generic marketing/promotional email and got lost in my inbox.
We only found out our itinerary was impossible at 4:30 AM at the airport. Watching my excited child’s face crumble in pure heartbreak in a cold terminal at 4:30 in the morning is something I’ll never forgive.
WARNING TO TRAVELERS: Triple-check every email from LOT—even the ones that look like spam. They will quietly alter your flights and rebook you into a temporal paradox without proper warning. Unbelievable incompetence.
$5,500 for Premium Economy – Very Disappointing
My wife and I paid approximately $5,500 for two LOT Premium Economy tickets from Warsaw to Chicago. The cabin was worn and dirty, USB ports were physically broken, the AC outlet was extremely loose, the tray table was damaged with gum inside, and entertainment controls barely worked. My wife was also forced to take a vegetarian meal because they ran out of the regular option.
One crew member was rude and dismissive when I reported the charging issue. To be clear, the flight attendant serving us was very nice and professional.
Even more disappointing was LOT's response to my formal complaint. They focused on claiming the power outlet was "restored" while largely ignoring the broken USB ports and other issues I documented.
I've flown LOT for years, but for the price of Premium Economy, I expected far better. Definitely not a premium experience.
LOT airlines Seat allocations issues
Really disgusted with LOT Airlines. I am flying in the next couple of days with my family and paid to book seats so that we would sit together. However LOT has changed one of the seats for "operational reasons" and when I called the call centre I was told that we only bought seats in a particular class not location. So now they want more money to move one of the seats that we can all sit together. I have NEVER had this on Easyjet, Wizzair or Ryan Air. If you are travelling with a family and want to sit together I strongly advise that you consider alternative airlines, At least with them when you pay for seats together you get them. Really poor from LOT. I travel to and for from Poland many times and never had this on Wizz air or the others
Bad service
Formal Complaint Regarding Treatment at New Delhi Airport – Flight LO 72 on 29.07.2026
Dear LOT Polish Airlines Customer Relations,
I am writing to submit a formal complaint regarding the treatment my family and I experienced at New Delhi Airport during our return journey on flight LO 72 from Delhi (DEL) to Warsaw (WAW) on 29.07.2026.
Reservation number: X7C4Q6
Number of passengers: 5 family members
My family and I would like to express our deep disappointment and sadness regarding the way we were treated by the staff at New Delhi Airport. After this experience, we honestly regret choosing LOT Polish Airlines for our journey.
During check-in, we experienced a very stressful and upsetting situation. We were told that our checked baggage was overweight by only 200 grams on two checked bags of 23 kg. Because of this very small excess weight, we were asked to leave the check-in counter, take all our baggage away, remove items, and return to the queue again. This happened three times, causing unnecessary stress, frustration, and anxiety for my entire family.
We were also told that my wife’s small personal handbag was counted together with her cabin baggage weight. We were asked to pay an additional charge. We did not have the money to pay this extra fee, so we were forced to remove and throw away some of our personal belongings.
The situation became even more upsetting during boarding. Other passengers were allowed to proceed normally after their boarding passes were checked. When it was our family’s turn, we were stopped and taken aside. Our cabin baggage was measured and checked again in front of other passengers.
We felt extremely embarrassed and humiliated. The way we were treated made us feel as if we were criminals, even though we were simply passengers trying to follow the airline’s rules.
There was also a female staff member at the New Delhi check-in area who appeared to be supervising or controlling the counters. We do not know her name or exact position, but her behaviour towards us was very rude and unfriendly. The way she communicated with us and handled the situation made us feel very uncomfortable and disrespected. The level of customer service we received from her was very disappointing.
We understand that airlines have rules regarding baggage and security checks. However, passengers should always be treated with respect, fairness, and dignity. The rules can be explained without making families feel ashamed or humiliated.
This experience has left a very negative impression on us, and we are very disappointed that our journey with LOT started and continued with such stress.
We kindly request LOT Polish Airlines to investigate this incident, review the behaviour of the staff involved at New Delhi Airport, and provide an explanation regarding how this situation was handled.
We also request clarification regarding the treatment of personal handbags and cabin baggage weight rules.
We look forward to your response.
Kind regards,

LOT Refunded the Ticket, but Left Us With the Consequences
LOT cancelled part of our family itinerary approximately one month before departure. Although the affected booking was refunded, the refund did not cover the real consequences of the cancellation.
We had purchased our tickets well in advance at reasonable prices. By the time LOT cancelled the flight, replacement tickets were significantly more expensive. We tried to minimise the loss by purchasing cheaper fares without checked baggage and with less favourable conditions, but we still ended up paying more.
LOT offered alternatives, but one required travelling on a different date and another involved an overnight connection in Poland, with the hotel cost left to us. A more practical itinerary was rejected without any meaningful effort to find a workable solution.
There was also a separate return booking for our daughter. This booking was created separately because LOT’s own WhatsApp representative advised us to structure the family trip that way. Nevertheless, LOT refused even to waive the €79 cancellation fee as a goodwill exception after its cancellation disrupted the overall family journey.
Different representatives repeatedly gave essentially the same procedural response, but no one appeared willing to consider the actual financial impact or exercise reasonable discretion.
The issue is not simply that a flight was cancelled. Cancellations can happen. The real test of an airline is how it supports passengers afterwards. In our case, LOT chose the easiest solution for itself, refunding the affected ticket, while leaving us to absorb the higher replacement costs and the consequences of rebuilding the journey ourselves.
This experience seriously reduced my confidence in LOT’s customer service and disruption handling.
No it was alright staff was eh and my…
No it was alright staff was eh and my child who travelled alone never got his lot plushie that the other 2 children got either racist staff or rude service
Horrible Experience
I will never fly with LOT Polish Airlines again.
I traveled from Tirana to Toronto via Warsaw, with the return trip following the same route. Across all four flights, not a single one departed on time. The delays caused my checked baggage to miss the connection in Warsaw, leaving me without my luggage for three days.
The purpose of my trip was to attend Shopify's DotDev 2026 conference, where I was representing my company as Head of Engineering. I arrived with nothing but the clothes I was wearing. I had to buy replacement clothing, shoes, toiletries, a phone charger—essentially everything needed for a multi-day business trip. By the time my luggage finally arrived, the conference was already over, making its delivery almost pointless.
What disappointed me even more than the baggage delay was LOT's customer service.
When I contacted them through their official support channels, I wasn't looking for miracles—I simply wanted information or reassurance that someone was actively helping. Instead, I repeatedly received copy-and-paste responses telling me to contact other offices and "wait." When I explained that I was attending an international conference with nothing to wear, I was told there was no possibility to accelerate the process and that they "don't participate further in this process."
At no point did I feel that anyone acknowledged the inconvenience or took ownership of the situation. The communication felt dismissive and indifferent, as though I was inconveniencing them by asking for updates on a problem their airline had caused.
The onboard experience didn't help either. The flights were delayed, the food was below average, and the overall experience fell far below what I expect from an international carrier.
Every airline can experience delays or mishandle baggage. What distinguishes a good airline is how it communicates and supports its passengers when things go wrong. In my experience, LOT failed on both counts.
I genuinely cannot think of a reason to choose this airline again.
Baggage with LOT from Delhi
The flt in itself was ok, but the experience with ground staff and their fatty fatty manager Mr Sharma was terrible. They were weighing our baggage by the gram. If you were 1 kg extra in hand even, they were offering to check in your hand luggage even for 150€ … They weighed my bags 3 times, even at the entrance to the aircraft. It was a terrible experience with v rude ground staff, who give LOT a bad name. This happens only in Delhi & not elewhere on LOT flts. NEVER FLY LOT - v greedy & rude airline - terrible experience!
It was very cramped and uncomfortable
The staff was polite, but the aircraft we traveled in for 13 hours from Warsaw to Tokyo was unacceptable. Personal space is almost non-existent, and you suffer throughout the entire journey. Even for someone who is 1.67m tall and weighs 53kg, like me, there is barely enough room to fit comfortably. I would call it inhumane."
Lost my luggage
LOT unfortunately book their flights with very short connections which creates lots of stress rushing through Warsaw airport with awfully rude security staff. They also lost my luggage as they didn’t have time to put it onto my connecting flight, and ruined half of my trip as they then didn’t put it onto the next flight or even one the following day. Avoid this airline.
LOT is a LOT of trouble - Avoid at all costs
I decided to fly LOT Polish Airlines at a slightly higher cost, even though it had a layover, because it's a full-service airline, and my other option for those dates was a budget airline. I have never been more disappointed in an airline, and I've been flying for decades. My initial flight was delayed, causing me to miss my connection. Now, that happens. BUT, they had only given 40 minutes between landing and takeoff of the next flight, but assured me this was normal and I'd be fine. Of course, then a 15 minute delay meant I was NOT fine. I could have been okay with that, except then they put me on a flight that had ANOTHER layover to a small city in Poland, with another short layover (45 minutes.) I asked for the first non-stop flight to Istanbul that could be found...please. They said they'd do me the "favor" of this, and gave me what equated to $14 and some kiddie snacks to buy food now that I had to sit for eight hours. $14 isn't going very far in an airport! Still, I was okay with it. When I did finally get in, after 1am in the city I was supposed to have arrived in at 5pm, I found my bag had been tossed around terribly. Okay, it happens. I still didn't complain. It wasn't until I wanted to extend my stay by 1-2 days that LOT became an airline I will NEVER fly again. I found that my return leg had been cancelled! I'd been deemed a no show! Because they'd moved me to the nonstop flight but never put it in their system. AND they'd never contacted me to inform me that they'd cancellled my flight. Okay, thankfully I discovered this before trying to return! OMG. I was able to get that sorted, but it took 24 hours because they have limited response time on whatsapp, no live chat, and I cannot call their polish phone number when I'm in another country on my plan. Okay, so now I'd like to extend my trip a day or two. I cannot do this online apparently, since I've flown a leg...although I can easily do so on any other airline I've flown. I cannot get in touch with ANYONE to help because on messenger they "cannot provide new flight costs" and "cannot transfer me to a manager." I can only "fill out a form" via e-mail or call a Polish number (which I cannot do without an international calling plan which I don't have.) What year is this?? I fill out the form. I get a response that says I'll basically have to buy a new ticket (the cost is the same as if I just bought a new one) AND that price is not guaranteed AND they don't work 24/7 so if I reply there's no guarantee when I'll get a response so I should (once again) call the only number they have???? So, I'm literally just going to abandon this flight, book a new flight on a different airline for the same price they want to charge me to change mine (even though I can see there is little to no fare difference), and call it a day.....and the crazy thing? I was planning to fly them again this summer with an overnight in Poland to check out the country. NEVER again. I'll skip Poland!
I had one of the most frustrating trips with LOT
I had one of the most frustrating travel experiences with LOT Polish Airlines.
My flight from Almaty to Warsaw was delayed, causing me to miss my connecting flight to Chișinău, even though both flights were on the same booking. I was eventually rebooked and reached my destination around 8 hours later than originally scheduled.
Because of this delay, I missed my pre-booked bus home and had to buy another ticket at my own expense.
Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. My checked baggage did not arrive with me and remained missing for approximately one week.
When the baggage was finally located, I discovered that there was no delivery option available. I contacted the airport and explored alternative ways to collect it, including courier and transport services, but none were possible. The only solution was to travel to another country and collect my own suitcase in person, purchasing two more bus tickets solely because my baggage had not been delivered.
Throughout this process, I felt that the responsibility was simply passed from one party to another. LOT denied compensation for the long delay because the journey started outside the EU, while the baggage-related costs were left to another airline. As a passenger, however, this distinction makes little difference—the end result was an 8-hour delay, additional transportation costs, a week without my belongings, and significant time and stress.
I understand that airlines operate under legal regulations, but I expected far better customer care after such a chain of disruptions. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that no one was prepared to take responsibility for the overall impact on the passenger.
I sincerely hope LOT improves the way it handles situations like this in the future.
charging to fix their own incompetence
they misspelled my name in booking. Have asked me to pay 40 euro to fix it. Then fixed it with another mistake and ask to pay another 40 euro to fix their own mistake.
How is this airline still alive?
How is this airline still alive?! I come to check reviews after 2 very bad experiences with LOT and I see their grade... not surprised at all.
In 2 flights I had more issues with them than I ever had in 20 years of flying.
From Tallinn to Warsaw our flight is a little late but we just have enough time to get our connection to Nice. Then we stay on the tarmac for 1 hour without any information. We are over 1 hr late in Nice and our baggage is missing (despite staying 1hr in Warsaw...). I get it the next day beginning of afternoon but that means almost a day of vacation is lost.
Flight back from Nice is late right away by 1h30 min. Despite that on the plane they tell us to go to the gate to catch our plane to Tallinn as... it's also late. We get to the gate and the plane is departed. We were 15-20 ppl they could have just waited 20 minutes more (AirBaltic does it all the time). No, they just left... worst company ever. It was my first and last time with them.
Update the next day: awful checkin time, staff not trained and very unpolite, takes almost 10 min on each passenger group to register luggage, oh and guess what they re late again. 1st flight of the day, how can you be 30 min late for no reason?? 4 flights, all late between 30 and 1h30 min...
Very good experience.
We are very surprised to see the number of negative reviews here.
We flew LOT a year ago from Paris to Szczecin via Warsaw and were very happy with the experience.
We therefore flew with them again over the same route in July 2026, this time in business class, and found it to be exceptionally good - fast and easy check-in at Paris CDG airport, a very good business lounge at the airport, good in-flight service and food, and a special transfer coach at Warsaw airport for business class passengers.
It is true that our luggage did not make it on time to be transferred to the second flight, but the staff at Szczecin airport was very accommodating and our suitcases were brought to us in a city 100 km away the next day.
In summary, a very enjoyable experience.
