Now, lets see what the DT have for you.

Scatty Jan - Ohhhh I really loved making my little bird house this week. The die that I used is the Jolly Bumblebees memory box havent used it for far to long - I glittered up his wings using star dust stickles.I cut the little house on my portrait . The roof  was cut from paper from Work and Play 1 collection (as was the branch) - The nuts and ladybird were from Cherryblossom Lane collection. The flag banner is from Picknix cd and the main paper , birds, and flowers from the Eden collection. It's so much fun working with all the collections , there are plenty on each but it's also great that they mix and match. The little tiny leaves ontop of the house are a punch- lots more piccy's on my blog xx

Asha - I made a card for a friend who is expecting a baby girl. Here's a sweet and simple card made with papers from my all time favourite indispensable CD for patterned papers - Sugar Birdies. The pre-coloured digi and sentiment are from the Fredericka Mini Collection. I'm using heart dies in various sizes to cut and frame as well as a few sequins and sheer ribbon for a soft and delicate finish.

Penny - I was delighted when I saw the theme of Use a die for the challenge and immediately ran off to play with my Little B and Spellbinders dies to create.  I used the wonderful Eden collection papers and embellishments.   I love how easy it is to coordinate everything, I think I was smiling the whole time I created this.

Karon - My hubby's nephew is getting married later this year, so I decided to get my Wedding card made and done.  I used several sizes of oval dies behind the main image and on the inside.  I have used the wonderful Bride and Groom rabbits off of the wonderful Cherryblossom Lane Collection, they are also available as a single digi download.  All the elements are from this fabulous CD.

Lou - I have used one of the card templates from Work and Play 8, Music; adore their shape with the music notes on the side. Papers, embellies, sentiments and flowers are also from the same CD/download. Dies were a Sizzlet set to create some frames and a Sizzix butterfly die.

Cheremane - I have used the stunning Eden Cd to create my card and used Fairy Wings Digi I adore everything about this collection the colours are very feminine teamed with stunning images it really is a must for all your girly creations. I teamed this up with Spellbinders and Memory box die's to suit the theme.

Agnieszka - hello Crafters :) Today I want to share with you my card with image from the
Work & Play 10 CD Collection - Country Life. I used pre-coloured image Gamekeeper :) I also printed papers from CD - they are so pretty and softy colours. I created card for a man, added some white and craft carton, few flowers and dies (Cheery  Lynn Designs - lace and leaves and Crafty Ann - honey comb lattice, sentence - "for you".

AnnaFor the Use a Die Challenge, I decided to make a last Easter card for this year, in my favorite color - violet. It has flowers, lace and a cardboard bunny . Card made from  Winston collection.

Week 46 - Clean and Simple - Polkadoodles Challenge

It's Friday! And it's the start of another fabulous challenge here at Polkadoodles.

This fortnights challenge...

Clean and Simple.

You will have until Friday 28th November, noon GMT, to enter.
You do not have to use Polkadoodles products to enter our challenges,
and the rules for the challenges are over there in the side bar ---->

THE WINNER OF THIS CHALLENGE WILL RECEIVE A FABULOUS DOWNLOAD BUNDLE WORTH £5 FROM THE DIGISTORE....

Make sure you get this date in your diary as Nikky will be on
Create and Craft on Thurs 20th November
which is next week with another fabulous Polkadoodles show - don't miss it because there's something special going on!

Let's take a look at what the team have to share this week...

Scatty Jan I absolutely adore the Octavia collection - This card uses Octavia Friendly Hugs and she is coloured using Graph'It Markers - I am not usually a CAS crafter but I do think Octavia is such a lovely digi she speaks out on her own xx

Asha - Not being CAS-worthy I struggled to make this card. For my project, I used Libby the gypsy girl from the Fredericka Mini CD collection and dressed her up in Christmassy colours with the help of Graph'It markers.  You can also download Libby as a single digistamp. The sentiment is from Gingerbread Twist. Somehow it seemed appropriate, given my fertile imagination! A little gold choc wrapper, gold stitching, 3 eyelets, a few Liquid Pearl droplets and it's done.

AnnaI don't often make cards in the Clean and Simple style, but here it is - a very simple and uncomplicated card. The background is made from a corrugated cardboard and on it, just a beautiful image of a Teddy Bear from the Winston Deluxe Papercrafting CD collection, and a tiny clothes pin on the bow.

Karon - Well, CAS hmmmm!  This is probably as close as I will ever come to a CAS card.  The temptation to add bling to those snowflakes was really hard to resist.  As is, I had to add ribbon and the embossed background ;-)  I used the pre-coloured snowman off the fabulous Work & Play 5 - Festive Hollybobs collection, and decoupage him.  The sentiment is from A Home for Christmas CD collection.

Cheremane - It's really hard for me to do CAS as I just love using ribbon and bling, But I have to say I really did enjoy making this card and maybe its a start of more cas from me. I have used the gorgeous Octavia Thinking Digistamp and delicately coloured her added a little glamour dust along with some simple mat and laying and just one gem as I just couldn't resist.

Ashley -  I have a very hard time with open white space I feel like its so limiting but it is also amazing! Okay well let me stop rambling, look at this beauty, I am so proud that I was able to do CAS. I used the  Work & Play 5 Festive Hollybobs collectionI can not stress this enough, if you do not have this set you NEED it! IT has the absolute best digi  images of the season!

Leah - Like most of my counterparts, I have a wee bit of trouble with CAS, however, who doesn't love a good challenge!  I used Octavia Best Friends for this project, and what a spectacular image she is to color!  I want to try her in all different hair and eye colors.  I colored her with my Prismacolor Pencils on vellum, then used 2 simple layers to put her in a shadowbox frame, along with ribbon and one die cut.  The quote by George Eliot speaks volumes for myself and many others.  I really love the look of the shadowbox, and I can see a few more of them in my future!  I have also discovered that glass is very hard to photograph!  There are a few reflections in there :P

Melanie - I love clean and simple cards - I would definitely say it's my style! Don't feel you need to use a white card blank to get this look - the emphasis is on placement and embellishments (or lack of them!), making sure your finished product is unfussy and uncluttered.  For this card I used the lovely black & white postcard from the Festive Hollybobs CD. I mounted it onto a kraft card blank at an angle, coloured the holly leaves with my pens and added a subtle pop of red with some gems for berries. I then simply tied the card with red & brown twine and added my sentiment. So simple!

Wow - Amazing inspiration from the Design team this week.

It's sure to get those creative juices flowing :-)

Please do not forget, there are a maximum of 2 entries per person.

Have a fabulous week everyone.

 Rose Budd Collection

Now onto our DT inspiration for this week....

Scatty Jan - I loved this weeks theme, I could not remember all the colours though and had to look them up!!  I used the lovely image Poppy from the Bonbon Belles CD , The sentiment is also from the same CD - The image and the pearls have been coloured in with Graph'It Markers xx

Karon - I tried to take this one literally and that is why I chose to use the cyclist off the Work and Play 4 collection, she is coloured with alcohol markers.  The little puppy (Toto) is from the Dollie Daydream Girl Talk CD, cutting it from one of the digis. The housing scene is from the fabulous CD collection Double Sprinkle of Kraft, I added some blue birds and a balloon from the Bonbon Belles CD collection.  And there you have it, a sort of Dorothy on her bike with Toto, off to the State Fair :-)

Asha - I made a patchwork rainbow background using papers from the bumper Sugar Birdies Collection. The image is a pre-coloured digi called Anya from the Fredericka Mini Collection. I fussy cut her and popped her up on foam tape. For embellishments, I used flowers from Bonbon Belles and I finished the project with a few bling.

Fabulous inspiration for you this week!.....

And now for some fabulous inspiration....

Ruth: I've used papers from the Fredericka cd - both the pretty butterfly and the spotty paper. I also printed the butterfly paper onto thick card and cut out some of the butterflies and layered them up, adding wire and a pearl as I went.

Scatty Jan - I used the lovely Bonbon Belles CD this week - I used the sweet little Heather Character who is on the CD but also as a stand alone digi over in the Etsy Shop - I think she will be fab for all those grirly summer birthdays. The butterfly, the sentiment and the topper shape are all from the CD which is completly jam packed full of lushness. I coloured Heather using my Graph'It Markers and I also coloured the plain whiite pearls with them to match xx

Asha - Here is a step card featuring Meeshelle from the Fairy Flutterfly rubber stamp series.  I coloured the little fairy with Graph'It and Promarkers. The sentiment and elements are also from this stamp set. I heat embossed the butterfly on vellum. The beautiful butterfly patterned papers are from the Bonbon Belles CD. Some ribbon, a few bling and this girly card is done.

Karon - Things with Wings, what will you come up with this week.  I decided to use Fairy Flutterfly Gracie for my card in a box, this week.  She is wonderful little set of 5 stamps.  The large butterfly behind Gracie is also from this set.  I have used papers from the Fredericka Mini Collection CD, and also the other colourful butterflies are from the Dollie Daydream Goes East Collection.  Gracie is coloured with some water based inks on watercolour paper.

Lou: I have used the butterflies from 3 of the Fairy Flutterby stamps sets to create my card. My card  is a homage to Nikky after seeing a recent demo she did on Create and Craft. I have coloured the butterflies with my pan pastels and added glitter highlights using my GraphIt Shaker pens. (Did you know that these sets are now on sale in thePolka Doodles shop with a whooping 50% off)!

Let's see what the team have made for you! ....

Scatty Jan  I made a little Easter box this time and filled with yummy chocolate bunnies - I used the fabby Cherryblossom Lane CD - I adore colouring but I went for something different this time and used the pre- coloured image of blossom is'nt she just so sweet, I also used the pre - coloured butterfly - Blossom is also available as a digi here . I cut the little box on my portrait xx

Katie Yum Yum Easter time again, I love chocolate and this is the only time of year except (dare I say it!!) Christmas that you can have choc for breakfast!! But here is my creation I have altered a french fry box to hold all my lovely chocs. I used Cherry Blossom Lane & Sugar Plum Image Have fun Happy Easter and keeeeeeeeeeep Crafting Katie DT xx

Bev here with my Easter make. I've used the 'oh so useful' Cherryblossom Lane and created a scene in my graphics programme and printed it off onto water coloured card. I then took the fab freebie Tatty Twinkle Easter digi coloured it with my Graph'it markers and added a couple of eggstra digi eggs.

Anjie - I've take the challenge on with the true meaning of Easter, which for me is all about new beginnings, and here is my project.
I've used the bird house from the Candy Doodles COLLECTORS EDITION CD-Rom, I absolutely adore this CD, it has to be one of my fave ones ever! I've printed out the templates onto the back of papers from the CD that I printed onto card. When I cut them out I added some Weathered Wood Distress ink around the edges of everything.
And so for the theme I have made a little nest out of some tree bark and added it inside the birdhouse with some baby birds in with mummy bird watching over them.

Shell-For my inspiration this week I have made a cute little Easter basket. I have used the cute little Masie image from the Cherryblossom Lane CD and papers from the Dolly Daydream girl talk CD...

Susan  This week I haven't used any images or coloured anything, I have just used digi Papers from the fab CD Pretty Sweet.  I have also added some embellies from the Fantastic new range of Doobadoo available at Polkadoodles, then I put a few (lots) dabs of Gesso on to make it look a little shabby chic

Ruth: I've made two cute Easter baskets with papers from the Fredricka cd plus some die cut letters and a lot of little cute wrapped treats (and none were eaten during the making of the baskets!) The sentiments were actually part of the chocolate packaging so I decided to add them!

Gorgeous creations from the team, some great ones here!

You have until noon GMT on Friday 2nd May to enter this one and we will announce the winner on 9th May. Dont forget you dont HAVE to use Polkadoodles products to enter the challenge, but please just make sure you follow our rules in the sidebar --->

Well done everyone, thanks for joining us and don't forget to grab your blinkies!

Let's get to the Design Team inspiration - they have some fantastic makes for you today! ......

Katie Yeah Spring is here!  I cannot wait to see my first little lamb. But with this weeks inspiration I thought I would go 3D. I used the digi image from Emma Canning and the backing paper I used for the swirls on the bird cage was from Bon Bon Bells CD . Have fun with this challenge and Keeeeeeeeeeep Crafting Katie xx
Scatty Jan - ohhhh what great fun I had making my project this week - I cut out the wheelbarrow on my portrait and then I used the fantastic CD Bonbon Belles and cut out the flowers and the butterfly.
Bev here with this weeks DT piece a cute little shaped tag. It's made using the oh so versatile Sundae of Seasons CD Rom this is all printed out using one sheet!  All I added from my crafty stash was a button, a bit of sparkle and some raffia around the handle.
Shell-For my "Spring is in the air" card I have made a card in a box, I did cheat a little and used a cutting file to make the box...I'm rubbish at measuring lol....The image is off the Fredericka mini collection and the sentiments are from the Fairy Flutterfly stamp sets (half price at the moment too)
And here is a photo from the side. The layers on the box have been embossed and inked with distress ink...I went with yellow for this challenge cause it always reminds me of the daffs in spring.
Susan - For my challenge card I have used Papers and an image from the new Work and Play 1 CD
I used Graph. It markers to colour the image,( List of Graph'Its used can be found on my blog )
Looking forwards to seeing all your entries.
Patty - I made a Birthday card using papers from Candy Doodles and the Girl is from Sugar Daisy I accent her colors using color pencils, then I stamped the flower from Fairy Flutterfly Stamps on pink and yellow CS cut them and put them together and added one Doodle Dewdrop to each of the flowers. And finished my card with the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Stamp Doodles Rubbers stamps set. I had so much fun making this card and  love how it turned out.

Ruth: I've gone literally this week and made an exploding box with springy MUM letters! The papers are from Pen and Paper Circle issue 9 and I've used a Sizzix die to cut the letters and then added them to some craft wire which has been very much glued underneath the rolled flowers. I've added some clear doodle drop gems to the centres for extra sparkle - and they are reduced in the shop too!

I'm sure you 'll agree the inspiration from the team this week is just stunning! We'll see you back here next week, thanks for joining us! x

Week 11...MUM's the WORD Polkadoodles Challenge Inspiration

Hi everyone, welcome to another Friday at Polkadoodles.
Today we are bringing you some additional inspiration for our current challenge from last week
Mum's the Word

Yep, we want to see all your Mother's Day/Mum projects!
Mother's Day is sneaking up on us here in the UK, but you don't have to do a Mother's Day card, it could be a card for your Mums birthday, or your Grandma.  Let's see what you come up with this time.
Remember you don't have to use one of our products to enter but we'd love it if you did and you have until 21st March to enter!

Don't forget Polkadoodles has a fantastic new collection available and shipping now which might also be great for this theme! It's an absolute snip at only £8.99!
You can also get these adorable characters as digis from the store too on instant download!

The prize for this fortnights challenge, Mum's the Word, is a copy of this fantastic collection! Wow!

The winner and top 3 from our Week 8 Challenge Sugar and Spice, can be found at the end of this post.

But first we have some wonderful DT creations for your inspiration.

Scatty Jan I loved making up my project this time - I used the very, very scrummy CD Bonbon Belles - I chose the character Georgia who I coloured with Graph'it Markers Apart from the pink card all the elements and papers used are from the CD - A little Distress ink used around the edges and also some detail sparkle in the center of some flowers - The card shape was cut on my portrait but everything else I cut out by hand xx
Katie Not long now till we have to tell our mothers how much we really love them. Be it your Grandma, Mum, Friend or someone whom you love very very much a great way to show them how much they mean to you is a handmade card. This is because not only have you thought about them but you have taken time to make them something special. This card was made with a cutting pattern on my electronic cutting machine.  I have used backing paper from Pic N Mix Cd  . The ticket is from the Cherry Blossom CD . Have fun and give love to all the mums out there. Keeeeeeeeep Crafting Katie DT xx
Bev here with my take on this weeks challenge. I've used a couple of Cd Roms this week. The backing paper, striped border and oval 'Mum' sentiment are from Dolly Daydream Girl Talk and Billie the gorgeous digi stamp is from Fredericka which I coloured in with Graph'it Markers the colours used are on my blog. A couple of die cuts and a bit of bling brings the whole thing together.
Anjie - I have used a real mash up of products on this card. I started with 3 pieces of chip board and covered them in paper from the Wonderland CD-Rom. I distressed the papers with a distress ink and added faux stitching using the Graph'It Shake WHITE pen, which is a great pen. As you can see the colour is really strong and goes on in one go! I then created some panels using the same CD and technique. The letters are from the Magical Winter 2 CD-rom which proves the CD isn't just for Christmas. I have added the letters onto die cuts. I then printed out embellishments from the Sundae of Seasons CD-Rom and again used distress ink on them. And finally I printed out the heart shaped doilies from the All Around & Everywhere CD rom and distressed them too. I slightly altered the colours of the letters and doilies in a graphic program (MCS) to go with the project. I hope this gives you some inspiration to have a look through your older CD's and dust them off.
Shell- For my card this week, I have used one of the older cd roms from Polkadoodles. I simply printed a topper of the Love & Cherish CD. The actual card took about 15 mins to make but I spent hours going over the cd and finding all the things I had forgotten about...I cut the MUM on my cameo then simply added a few gems and some ribbon.
Susan - What a lovely challenge ,Mothers Day .I have used papers and an image from one of the new collections Girl Talk which is available on CD or download ,its an amazing bundle of everything you could wish for.
Ruth: I've gone back to Paper Boutique Vol 3 for my card! I printed all the elements plus some extra flowers in A5, cut everything out and then layered it up. The butterflies are chipboard that I've coloured with Promarkers. Sentiment tag is handwritten.

So there's our inspiration this week!
Remember you have until 21st March at noon to enter this one
