Wednesday's Words on a Friday
On Wednesdays , Delores, from Under The Porch Light , has a meme which she calls “Words for Wednesday”. She puts up a selection of six words which we then use in a short story, or a poem. I’m hopeless at poetry so I always do a story. It’s a fun challenge…why not join in? This week's words are: 1. insulted 2. blacktop 3. mortician 4. jazz 5. dynamic 6. interfere Here is my story: Well I never! How dare you say such a thing! Who gave you permission to interfere ! There is nothing wrong with this outfit! Nothing! Muttering, "I've never been so insulted in my life", and looking much more like a mortician than the dynamic jazz singer she imagined, crotchety old Mrs Foster stalked across the path to the blacktop taxi waiting to take her to the costume party. Her neighbour sighed and continued smiling at the apparition that was Mrs Foster as she went back inside to tell her husband about it.
