it is HOT, HOT, HOT!

98F

if you factor in the humidity, it FEELS LIKE 109F.

that's right, deep south, hotter than georgia asphalt hot.

we're under a heat advisory - which means stay inside, if you do have to go out dress in light clothing, drink lots of fluids and generally, move slower than the breeze.

thank goodness for central air.

i had a meeting at 9.30 in the morning. i was not happy. i am only marginally happy now.

BUT. . .

it was business, not personal, so it will pass by the end of this writing.

and it has.

blogging after being outside in the georgia heat, is akin to blogging while drunk - something to be avoided.

i'll be back later.

later, oh yeah, it's even hotter now! but tomorrow it should cool down to the low 90's and might even rain.

and y'all wonder why

we're such strange people

down here in the south. . .

and even later, amazon delivered to my door v for vendetta and coping mechanisims by si schroeder this afternoon. i can't remember who turned me on to si, but i am really glad y'all did! and wonder of wonders, netflix also delivered 3 dvd's: vantage point, romance & cigarettes and you kill me. we're so not leaving home tonight or tomorrow!

  1. You need to move North.

We've had a fabulous summer. We have not recorded a 90 degree day YET. (That's not counting humidity.) It's been amazing.

Of course, this summer is every bit as odd as our winter with record breaking snow fall. It's NEVER this perfect out.

But I'm loving every second of it!!! I could be outside all.the.time!

  2. Your weather does not agree with me either. Beautiful day here in "The Land of 10,000 Lakes & 10,000 Taxes." Low 80's low humidity and you can see for 50 miles. Perfect day for a gin and tonic on the deck. Come on over Savannah I will mix one for you as well. I will fetch the Plymouth Gin just for you. Do ya want a wedge of lime in yours, Sugar?

  3. Sheesh. It's in the upper 70s here in Blighty and slightly humid and that's as hot and sticky as I can take it, Savannah.
I'll be sleeping downstairs tonight with the fan blowing on my saggy, nekkid body (I know … too gross).
    Here's to cooler weather.

  4. I think strange people move to the South, the crazy weather is just a coincidence. As for me, I'm trying to stay awake in a dark and cavernous soundstage while waves go unridden on a sunny 85° day in SoCal. ¡Que lastima!

  9. If it gets as hot as 80 here the papers start posting death warnings! It's probably about 60 at the moment, bloody freezing!
