Favorite Animation is today's subject:
ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, i give you from 1949,
Disney's Wind In The Willows!
this is another one of those movies whose dialogue has become part of the coconut krewe's shorthand. it has been one of my favorites for as long as i can remember and now i'm sharing it with all y'all! have fun and if you can, find a copy and laugh along with mr. toad and all his friends!
That was a joy! Not as much of a joy as reading below that MITM is back, things are looking up, XXXXXX
ReplyDeleteDear Savannah,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great clip.
My Great Uncle had a glass house similar to the one that these two shatter their way through, unfortunately his was shattered by a hail storm about 40 yrs ago and it wasn't as funny as this and I dont recall any of us singing about it!
Delovely! That horse sounds exactly like that late Lancastrian George Formby.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed. . Thank u.
ReplyDeleteLovely little movie. . .A blast from my baby sitting days. My mate had passed on to her boys and they wouldnt stop playing. . .mainly because they kept falling asleep before the ending. . .lol cant remember if they ever did get to see xx
I've not seen this! Why haven't I seen this?
ReplyDeleteThank you Savvy.
Sx
I hadnt seen this before either! Lovely, although it takes a lot to beat the version that we have on video which my kids used to love. Mr Toad is always a great favourite.
ReplyDeleteYou tried to sell me a stolen motorcar!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this, but I love it. I love that little jumping rope frog the most. What a cheery clip and this is why I picked animation... to find little gems like this!
ReplyDeleteHappy MCW! xoxox
Badger Rocks!
ReplyDelete:D
Oh how lovely! On the road to nowhere in particular... that sounds rather like my life! heehee!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that the MITM is back home safe and sound... will year from ya when y'all are back online, girlie! xoxoxoxo
Pat's right: it *is* George Formby! How did I never spot that before?
ReplyDelete(Good to read the MITM's back in town.)
Love it! I was very excited today to see an animated version of my book cover on Crime Time. You can see it here - watch the tear! http://www.crimetime.co.uk/mag/index.php/
ReplyDeleteWhat a friendly horse!
ReplyDelete:))
We cetainly are seeing a lot of variation on the theme today. I've heard of this movie but have never seen it. How does that horse pull the wagon up that hill? Magic.
ReplyDeleteHappy MCW!
What I learned from this movie was that Toad was so lucky to have really good friends! We should all be so lucky to have great friends who'll help us when things get tough!
ReplyDeleteI don't know this version of WIW - but lovely
ReplyDeleteI hope MITM is all safe home
xxx
How delightful.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly the sort of unbridled devil-may-care attitude that's missing today!
Ho-HO! My word imagine if everyone jumped out of bed in the morning with that song in their heart.
I should think that our National anthems should sound like this..it would really bolster the GNP aye wot?
Ahhh indeed, definitely one for the grandbabies to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourites. Hope all is well with you and yours :) xoxoxo
