Finally, I managed to install and configure a graphical environment directly during a installation session 🎉

Most of the friction was around GPU drivers, but the feedback and suggestions I received were incredibly helpful. A lot of people want to use FreeBSD on their laptops and desktops, and that really shows.

For now, the goal was to provide a simple option to install Plasma. If there’s interest and more requests, we can definitely expand this in the future with additional desktop environments and options.

Special thanks to the FreeBSD Foundation for their support 🙌

I spent some time working on implementing a new design for the list of controllers in @GIMP. The is the first instance of a "rich" list (low number of rows and rows made of multiple widgets) in GIMP's GUI.

Alt...A video showing a quick demonstration of an implementation of a new GUI widget in GIMP for managing controllers. The demonstration includes moving individual items in the list, toggling a controller on/off, opening the configuration menu for a controller, removing a controller and adding a new one.

English speakers of the fedi. In a software with the interface in English, Reading a menu with verbs such as Save, Open, Close, Edit, Format etc., do you read them as imperative (an order: "do this") or as an infinitive (the "base form" of the verb, like "to do this")?

Are you a native speaker or have English as a second language?

Client-side decorations are SO ANNOYING. 🤬

Title bars exist for a reason: that's how you move windows around. Stop removing them!

:xorg: Is the fact that X simply does what we want while the alternative isn't truly ready not a good enough reason? Why can't someone choose to keep using it?

I fully support the points made by @lxo@snac.lx.oliva.nom.br I'm also another busy person who tries Wayland periodically when people claim it's finally ready – and unfortunately, I consistently find it's not there yet, at least for me. If it works well enough for others, that's great! Let's keep choices available.
