Inseminoid - Plague tape

More dark and hazy black drone wall. 2014 tape on Turgid Animal. Last Inseminoid release I'll be posting; there are more tapes brought out by Lee Stokoe's Matching Head but he's not into having audio links of Matching Head tapes being posted, so you can find them out and buy them.

Inseminoid ‎– Coven cdr

The harshest, most visceral noise Inseminoid have ever made, reaching black metal levels in terms of trebly screeching. 2010 cdr on Turgid Animal.

Inseminoid & Jackal - Live In Newcastle split CD-R

Jackal: a mix between Skullflower and space rock by Mike Vest (Bong, Space Victim) and George Proctor. Inseminoid: deep drone wall haze. Live cdr released in 2010 by Turgid Animal.

Xazzaz / Space Victim / Inseminoid ‎– Live At Morden Tower 21.04.2013 cdr

Awesome violent guitar dissonance on the Xazzaz set, LOUD psychedelic chaos by Space Victim (Lucy Johnson of Smut/Witchblood, and Mike Vest of Bong), and a return to the icebreaker ship engine room by Inseminoid. 2013 cdr on Turgid Animal.

Inseminoid - Nightmare cdr

It's obvious that when Inseminoid decides to play drone they do it better. Think of this a noisier, more improvised version of Culver or even Harm and you know that it rocks. 2013 cdr on Turgid Animal.

Inseminoid - Untitled cdr

At that point in 2011 Inseminoid must have been on a winning-streak. No harsh noise wall here either, this is scary as fuck ambient drone wall with field recordings, toxic zombie synths, and heavy guitar stasis, quite similar to Culver, but even deeper and more troubling. Get this! 2011 cdr on Turgid Animal.

Inseminoid ‎– Northern Foot Fetish cdr

Not too fond of the cover here, as it's kinda too pornographic. Another slab of relentless epic drone/harsh noise wall combination running for 55 minutes, followed by mystical acoustic guitars and subterranean ritual drone. 2014 cdr on Turgid Animal.

Inseminoid - Greek Hammond cdr

Drone wall extravaganza continues. For some reason, my cd copy has a truncated 3rd track at 35 seconds, whereas the back cover says it's 12 minutes. If anyone has the whole of it, please get in touch. 2008 cdr on Turgid Animal.

Inseminoid - Nunnery CDR

The same noise/drone/harsh noise wall stuff done by Stokoe and Proctor but with an extra horror twist this time, with added wah guitar ramblings on "Lonely Cavern" and some Asian cymbal action on some tracks. 2008 cdr on Turgid Animal.

Inseminoid ‎– Sixty Nines 2Xcdr

One of the most structured Inseminoid releases, containing acoustic guitars, cinematic atmospheres, and a narrative approach to harsh drone. This is as close as it can get to Culver quality, albeit with a noisier edge. 2012 double cdr on Turgid Animal.

Inseminoid - Born Bronze / Orphan Blues tape

Somewhat a combination between Culver and Skullflower: dense layers of fuzz drone but with an underlying sense of riffs. 2008 tape on Turgid Animal.

Bandril - Achillis Heel cdr

Even for someone who is as steeped in obscurity as Lee Stokoe, this is one of his even more obscure outfits. In Bandril he is accompanied by Rob Galpin of the amazing Crochet and they play something like an improvised psych version of Culver. Very lo-fi sounding it starts with several minutes of random but atmospheric synth doodling and then goes on for about 35 minutes of deep sustained hot-air drone accompanied by inconspicuous percussion. Muzak for the hard of hearing? 2011 cdr on Turgid Animal.

Jazzfinger - The Ducal Palace

First rehearsal in 1996 of the initial duo form of Jazzfinger (Hasan Gaylani and Ben Jones) abusing guitars and basses. Very heavy, noisy, fuzzy and with a sense of green-ish muck pervading. 2009 cd on Turgid Animal.

Mutant Ape & Mlehst split 7"

A surprisingly beautiful and calming ambient piece by George Proctor's defunct noise filth project Mutant Ape (he now continues playing and releasing mainly "heathen" black metal with suspicious content through various monikers on Legion Blotan - I really wish to be wrong) and a industrial droning noisy piece by Mlehst. 2008 7" on Turgid Animal.

Female Borstal (Culver/Mutant Ape/Haikai No Ku project)

As mentioned in the previous post on the Wasp Bomb/Female Borstal split tape, the latter is a project consisting of Lee Stokoe of Culver on bass, George Proctor of Mutant Ape on drums and Jerome Smith of Haikai No Ku on guitar. Their music is sort of a mix between Lee's Marzuraan super-heavy sludge and Jerome's Haikai No Ku psychedelic vastness, something like a more energetic and less sleep-inducing Bong or Let Us Prey-era Electric Wizard (my fave Wizard album btw). The riffs are real nice and there is an epic and agonizing feeling that usually culminates in noisy feedback and echo-drowned jams. Here are some of their releases:

Fordell Research Unit / Erases ‎– The Dead Astronaut / To Hell And Back tape

Deep, submarine drone and synth levitation by Fraser Burnett/FRU, swarms of industrialized drone by the Erases trio. 2009 tape on Turgid Animal. There's a third tape they released on Stokoe's Matching Head as a split with weird black metal mystery band Black Graveyards which is the best of the lot, and you can get that from Lee himself or on Discogs.

Erases ‎– Erases tape

Yet another project of Lee Stokoe, the drone caveman from Gateshead, in which he collaborated with George Proctor (Mutant Ape, etc.) and Dean Glaister (Romance, RYN, etc) playing a slightly noisier and more industrial version of the time-tested drone these people are obsessed with. 2008 tape on Turgid Animal.

V/A ‎– Behind The Toilet Door Part I tape

Fucked-up idea for a compilation, featuring artists performing live where the title actually says, that is in a toilet. Stuff here is noise, spoken word, dictaphone skronk, drone and even some hardcore techno/gabber. Artists are: Brian Meuter And The Grandfather Clock (also known as Wrest/Jamie Stewart, whom we have mentioned in his work with Oppenheimer and Satanhartalt), One Wobbly Egg containing the sounds of urination, Waz Hoola (we know him already from other posts here), Dirty Den And "Wild" Joe Parsons beginning the set with the Police Academy theme, MC Blazin passing around XTC pills, Chris "Pause" Richardson, who is a crazy guy releasing tapes on Matching Head with samples from car races, Ron The Birdcage playing folk drone, and Tighten Me Jewels. 2013 tape on Turgid Animal.
