Besties

Sara and Preston had the pleasure of babysitting T for us a couple weeks ago. We had Josh's Christmas party to go to and our original sitter plans had to be changed so when I was talking to Sara and she mentioned they had no plans I jumped on the idea of asking them to keep T for a few hours. The girls had a great time, they were crazy as always. Audrey got tired like a normal 2 year old at a normal time around 8:00 but apparently T was still ready to party. No surprise there. Sara put them to bed together in Audrey's big girl bed. There are 2 reasons there is no way this would work. 1. T still sleeps in a crib because she is crazy so she thinks a big girl bed is way too cool to actually sleep in and 2. you put two 2 year olds in the same bed together and its way too fun to sleep. Apparently the girls were in there giggling and being crazy and it was all fine and good until they woke Izzie up, then Sara decided they had to be split up. T told Sara she wasnt tired and it was not time to go to bed. Sara begged to differ and put T in bed with her. It took T a while but she snuggled up to her and went to sleep. I got there shortly after and I think I remember Sara saying something along the lines of this..."I dont know how you do it, she could stay up forever" Welcome to my world. Thanks Brown family for watching T, she had a super fantabulous time! You guys are the best. Oh I forgot to mention that while T was there she refused to wear her own jammies or use her own stuff, it all had to be Audrey's. So T came home in high water jammie pants and a shirt that was 2 sizes too small.

Merry Christmas!

We had a fantastic Christmas this year, just like every other year! Tatum got way too much stuff and Josh and I both got nice gifts as well. For some reason, most of our pictures turned out really blurry so I dont have as many to post as I wanted to. We went to church Christmas Eve, then everyone came over to our house after. We had a nice dinner and then my parents stayed overnight to be here in the a.m. when T woke up. She slept in until 8:30 so we got a little bit of a late start. We opened presents and had monkey bread that I made which was so good. Definitely a new tradition for Christmas morning. We all took naps and then headed to Josh's parents house for dinner and presents there. Dinner was sooo good and since I had to work Christmas night, we had to leave sooner than we wanted to but had a great time! I also have to upload some Christmas Eve pics too from the other camera. We also got a new fancy camera as a gift so here is hoping we will have no blurry pictures next year!

T got an apron for her kitchen from U. Matt and A. Amy
Panties of course!
Checking out her new kitchen

Seriously, SO MANY GIFTS

Videos...really?

I realized that I dont post many videos any more. I am not sure why, we just always take still photos but I do love watching videos of T and I know for you guys far away it helps to make her a little more "there". So here are a couple videos. One is of her screaming to get Santa's attention while we were in line and the other is of her doing Ring around the rosey. She calles it "Paca Rosey" not sure why, maybe a combo of pocket full of posey and ring around the rosey we think. Anyway, she was doing it with her doll so I decided to video. She promptly decided to only do parts of the song but she was being pretty cute otherwise so I just kept it rolling. Enjoy.

Shanny

Shanny, well, thats what T calls her, Shannon is her real name is our babysitter. I work with her in the ER. She is a child life specialist and we adore her. All of us. We were chatting one day and I honestly dont remember how it came up but I asked her if she babysat, she said she did and well, the rest is history. She sits for us 2 days every other week on Josh's weeks to stay home since he has gotten too busy to stay home and she has been a life saver. She is going to keep sitting for us when the baby is born too. I never worry about T when she is with Shanny and T LOVES her and gets excited when she knows Shanny is coming the next day. What a blessing to have found someone we trust so much with our Bird. I couldnt ask for a better babysitter. We want Shanny to be happy and all but I have already told her she is not allowed to ever take another job, get married or have her own children. Unless of course its after my kids are in school already! LOL. We love you Shanny, thanks for all you do for us!

Tanta

T has taken quite a liking to Santa this year. I was thinking she might still be afraid of him considering how she was last year but that wasnt the case. She stood in line, patiently waiting her turn and then once she was up, she sat on his lap and had a very animated conversation with him telling him everything she wanted. The conversation was so long that we had to pull her away from his lap so the other kids could have a turn. It was so dang cute to listen to her talk to him. Lets hope Santa comes through and brings her the kitchen, art table and camera that she asked for!

Shhhh, don't tell daddy

Several weeks ago we went with Sara and Audrey and Izz to make a Christmas plate at the pottery place. While we were there I decided it might be fun to have T make something for Josh for Christmas. So, we decided on a coffee mug. T picked the colors herself and with the exception of me writing her name and year on the mug, she did it all herself and we know how much she likes to do thing by.her.self. So, hoping Josh likes it, it turned out pretty good if I do say do myself. I havent picked up the plate yet.....It is a Christmas plate and Christmas is 2 days away. Guess we will use it as decor next year. :)

Ritual

Every morning T has to have a glass of warm milk when she gets up. It has become a ritual. Now that she is big, she has to make it. So, we come downstairs, with her crazy hair, and she stands on the counter, puts the milk in the microwave and pushes the buttons to heat it up. She thinks its pretty awesome that she can do this by.her.self. I think its pretty awesome that she then drinks her glass of milk totally snuggled with me in my bed until its gone and that we do it every single a.m. that I am home...unless of course I am lucky enough to sleep in and Josh gets up with her. Then the ritual is the same only they cuddle on the couch so as to not disturb mama.

Zoo lights

While I was having my annual party, Josh decided to take Tatum and brave zoo lights with Preston and his kiddos and Theo and Rowan. It just so happened it was a frigid night, well, frigid by Az standards and apparently they had to park a good 25 minute walk away from the entrance. Then once they got in the kids were freezing but all seemed well once they got some hot chocolate. It was a good time although, not sure they will brave zoo lights again next year....perhaps dinner at someone's house and a couple beers would suffice. Here are some pictures from the night. A little birdie told me that this phrase was actually uttered at some time during the night...."Dude, face it, they are better at this than we are." Made me chuckle.

Seriously

She is my most favoritest thing in the whole. wide. world.

O Christmas tree

We've had our tree for quite some time now. In fact, we got it the week after Thanksgiving since I had my annual Christmas party with my friends the following weekend. I just have been busy, tired and a bit of a blog slacker these days so you didnt get to see pictures of us getting our tree or decorating it until now. It was a fun night. T totally gets Christmas this year and it makes it so fun! She loved decorating the tree and kept telling me that ornaments were "beautiful" or "gorgeous" and she was pretty stoked when she got to put the star on the tree. The tree had stayed pretty and green this whole time so we must have picked a good one!
