Blogger Friends Forever: Music

For once, I was going to do today's challenge mani the night before I had to. And then tragedy struck!

I was too mad to be inspired to do anything. I've since trimmed them all down to nubbins :( Then I could not come up with anything I wanted to do. In the shower this morning Barbed Wire and Roses by Pin Monkey got stuck in my head and I remembered Bundle Monster plate BM 323.

I started with two coats of Orly It's Not Rocket Science, which is more gorgeous than I expected. Then I stamped with Sally Hansen Rapid Red and China Glaze Passion. I didn't think these colors would work super well together, but I think it turned out awesome!

My black and white mani is sloppy, so I'll be redoing it tomorrow :)

Blogger Friend Forever: Neon

Kerrie's second theme choice was neon! I love neons this summer so I was super stoked.

I alternated between Orly Fresh, which is bright but not quite neon, and Finger Paints Pop Art Purple. Then since I knew I was going to be swimming in the sun today, I decided to top it off with Jade Psicodelica because who doesn't love a holo?

To summerfy it even more, I added hibiscus flowers with Bundle Monster BM 313 and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. So much fun! I questioned the combination of the green and purple. Before I stamped it, it reminded me of Barney or the Joker, but the stamping really helped to tone that down.

Now it's pool time with my awesome summer nails!

Summer Challenge: Chelsea Flower Show

So apparently the Chelsea Flower Show is a big deal in the gardening world. That would probably explain why I've never heard of it haha. I decided to keep it simple. I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Ivy League. I was not a fan of this polish. It took FOREVER to dry and then still bubbled.

Then I stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM 204 and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. This image is like my favorite image. It's so cute and delicate. I should've cleaned my plate before doing the middle finger, but I still like it :)

Spring PCFC Day 12: Daffodils

I love daffodils! They're like flowers full of happy. We used to have some in our flower bed, but they'd always bloom as soon as it got warm and then we'd have another freeze that finished them off :( Flowers just don't have much of a chance here lol. Anywho...here's my daffodil nails :)

I think there are some sheet prints on these :/ and a serious dent in my ring finger. It's just a dent in the nail that I need to repair. I started with one coat of Zoya Robyn (one coat!). Then I painted the outer petals with Sinful Colors Unicorn and then the inner bowl of the flower with Zoya Pippa. Then I added dots in OPI A Roll in the Hague for the stamen.

The flower on the ring finger is too big and the index is too small, but overall I still like these :) I love the blue and yellow contrast and how happy it all looks.

Texas Independence Day!

In case you didn't get it from my Texas Flag Mani. I really really really love Texas. And March second is Texas Independence Day celebrating the day Texas separated from Mexico with the Texas Declaration of Independence which created the Republic of Texas. In elementary school we always celebrated Texas Independence Day with a chuckwagon lunch (usually accompanied by live music including a fiddle) and dancing the Cotton-Eye Joe in P.E. Now that I'm in college, nobody really cares :( I decided to celebrate by putting the state flower (bluebonnets) on my nails! :)

I started with three coats of a light blue Cosmetic Arts. I then used a brush to paint on Sinful Colors Exotic Green for the stem. I then used a dotting tool and Sinful Colors Neptune, China Glaze Electric Beat and NYC French Tip White.

Bluebonnets are so pretty, but unfortunately they don't grow in the semi-arid area of Texas that I live in. They do grow on my grandmother's ranch, which is just a few hours away. If I can't enjoy them in real life, at least I can have them on my nails :)

Happy Texas Independence Day Y'all! Go eat some delicious BBQ and listen to some country with a fiddle in it!

Spring PCFC Day 3: Small Flowers/Flower Bed

Well hello there! I was really excited about this challenge day because I could do what I planned to do in the 31 Day Challenge. And then the same thing happened: I couldn't find my flower glitter. I had seen it everyday for the past week, and then when I went to do this mani, it was gone. I finally found it though! I started with two coats of China Glaze Kinetic Candy.

Then I added some flower shaped glitter I bought at Hobby Lobby and painted stems and grass with China Glaze Gaga for Green. So far so good. Then, for some reason, I decided it needed to be smooth, so I added Gelous and Seche Vite. I applied it too thick and it bubbled and ran all over the place and blurred my green :/ Here is the result:

These were the two nails I actually still liked.

And the full mani in all it's fail. I will have to attempt this mani again in the future.

31 Day Challenge: Day 15-Delicate Prints

I looked through my stamping plates and chose this image from Bundle Monster plate BM204. My family's insult of choice is "delicate flower" so that's kinda what I had on the mind. I chose also chose this delicate pink as my base and thought the purple would contrast nicely while still keep the design girly and delicate.

Polishes used: Finger Paints Brushstroke Blush and Ulta Devious

I normally hate pink and purple together, but I really really like this combination. It's just so...delicate I guess haha. It makes me feel fancy :)

31 Day Challenge: Day 14-Flowers

This mani is simpler than I ever imagined doing, but I like it a lot! I love white nails and I love the simplicity of the design :)

These are the polishes I used: Icing mini white, Cosmetic Arts fuchsia, Zoya Dita, Finger Paints Yule Be Merry, Essie unknown, NYC Times Square and Love and Beauty Silver Holo Glitter.

I used various sized dotting tools to make the flowers. I kinda messed up the ring finger, but it still turned out ok. I left the middles white because I could't find a color that contrasted enough. Then I looked at the glitter and thought it would make good flower centers. How do you like it?
