Growing Up!

Much to our dismay, or relief, I'm not sure which it is--Eliza is growing up! After the whole episode of her dislocating her elbow because she was trying to get in her bed (and she'd gotten out a few times too) we decided it was no longer safe to have her in a crib. I started looking around for bedding and finally found the bed spread you see here. I didn't want a character on the bed spread because it's a twin bed and I want Eliza to be able to grow into it--so she picked this. Anyways, the transition was hard at first but she is doing fantastic now! She even slept in a 'big' kid bed at Aunt Emily's! It's always fun to see how quirky kids about about things though and this is no exception. Eliza has to have everything just right, a book next to her bed, and certain animals on the bed just to sleep. Such a silly girl!

And I couldn't resist putting this picture in--the kids just love when Ben is home and "disconnected". (And I'll admit, so do I!)

Webelos Field Trip

PHEW! What a trip! This was a much talked about, much anticipated trip as our original trip date was canceled because my cousin had her baby early...but we finally made it! As part of the communications badge one of the options was to tour a newsroom--and I just happen to have a cousin (my dad's cousin or my 1st cousin once removed, Ellie) here in Portland who is a Producer at KGW-TV--the NBC affiliate here. And so once I got over being shy, I emailed her and scheduled a tour. It was a lot of fun--we took the MAX (mass transit) into Portland and got to check out the studio. The boys had a lot of fun--Kim and I were a little tired afterwards but we survived. :) I think next time though we'll have to do a little bit more training with the boys about field trips before we go...
