January

January was like the worst Monday that never ended. Postpartum hit me and then the accident and I have not really been the same since. I cannot seem to get anything done and the house is, well, not how I'd like to be. Thankfully I was still able to go do some things that always perk me up: Music Makers, Book Club and the rare trip to the gym. Here are some cute pics we got and then we can move onto the more promising February!

On MLK day we visited Grandma Webster and then the O'Briens. Michelle painted all the kids faces and even Violet sat still. We love our friends so much! Violet especially does. On one particular visit to the O'Brien's she about broke my heart when I was holding her and she reached to Michelle and said, "Momma!" And then as I took her to the door, she cried "Stay!"
Abby just looked too cute not to snap this shot! :)
Nana came and helped on the day after the accident and the kids loved having extra time with her!

And at the end of the month, Abby started cereal. YEAH!

The car incident

It was a good day and I was going to go to the gym. I packed up the girls (Xander was at school) and started backing out the driveway when I realized that I'd forgotten my phone. I put the car in park (or so I thought), jumped out and went to the front door. I turned around and realized my car was driving away--pretty quickly. I started running towards it. I didn't have a plan but I couldn't just let it go-3 of my kids were in it! So, I started banging on it, getting into it-something. It started to turn back towards me and slammed into my left shoulder. It started towards my neighbors home and I just kept thinking--their house!!!! It turned again and I realized it was going to slam into their car--which I was in front of. I heard something about jumping and I jumped just as it slammed into their Honda Civic. The Civic moved 3-4 ft. I was totally freaking out. A couple of other neighbors had watched it happen and came running to see if I was ok. I was totally shaken up! I ran to the neighbors door and rang the bell. He was SO calm.

Anyways, it was all pretty nerve wracking!

We got into the house and I collapsed and just sobbed. Eliza (who was incredibly calm and collected) found the phone and called Ben to get him to come home. He got there and I was able to calm down a little. At first the only bruise was on my chin but it ended up being a lot worse than that. My whole left side is bruised and I'm in quite a bit of pain. I don't know if the physical pain is worse than the emotional...it was pretty traumatic. I don't know if my words can do it justice.

Post Update: Here is the damage on our vehicle. It was worse than estimated-the "foam" was broken. One week in the shop though and she looks GREAT!
We couldn't figure out what the upper dent was from & the insurance was not going to cover it. Ben & I knew it wasn't there before the accident. It only took a minute to realize--that's where I hit the car!

House Updates

Xander's Room: Transformers & soon to have a solar system

Eliza & Violet's Room: Princess (it came pink so we only had to do the wall stickers!)

We let the kids pick their own room decor this time around and we finally got around to putting it up! They both love it!

New Year, New Class

A new year at Church is a new Sunday School assignment. It was a big year for us as Eliza moved up to Primary from the nursery and Violet started Nursery. Every one was super excited! Xander got moved to the CTR 6 class...his teacher are Brother & Sister Johnson, Eliza is with Bro & Sis. Brown and Violet is with Bro. & Sis. Jacobsen. Every one is very happy with their new classes. Eliza is doing great in primary and has already stood in front of the group and given a prayer. She is constantly singing the songs they learn in Singing Time. Violet is doing great as well and loves when Sis. Bowen comes in for singing. I hear that she is a very good girl. :) YEAH! In other church news, I was excused from my volunteer work with the Cub Scouts. I must admit, I was kind of relieved. I have been asked instead to teach the Relief Society (adult women) once a month. I'm so excited for this opportunity as I LOVE to study and teach!

Eliza's 4th Birthday Party

With our little girl before the party.
We took a page from Grandma Webster and hired Tiana to come and be a guest dance instructor. She made the party! The girls had a blast. Tiana brought Tu-tus and we got ours out so every one felt beautiful!Eliza and her flower birthday cake. She designed it and helped decorate it. She was very proud.

She asked Nana to create a pin the basket on Sleeping Beauty and it turned out FABULOUS!
Everyone together before heading home! Have I ever mentioned how I love small events as much as I love big ones?

Violet LOVED the streamers hanging in the hallway. Super cute.

Happy Birthday Eliza #4

Started the day right with our traditional birthday doughnuts! YUMMY!
Got to celebrate at school:

Party coming soon!

When we finally got a new pediatrician we took Eliza and while I don't remember her measurements, I do remember him saying, "Well, you are tall enough to be a first grader!" Hmm, not sure how I feel about that. But I'm sure it'll come in handy when we make a trip to So. Cal in September!
