THE  TRAVELING  WILBURYS - VOLUME 1  1988.

A supergroup whose members included George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne.

The debut album of the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys VOL 1, recorded and released in 1988, the disc was warmly received by music critics and was a great commercial success. In the first six months after its release, it sold more than 2 million copies, and rose to number 16 on the UK Albums Chart and to number 3 on the Billboard 200. 

The album stayed on the American charts for more than 50 weeks and received number 3 status. multiples of platinum.

THE  TRAVELING  WILBURYS 

George Harrison  - Jeff Lynne  - Roy Orbison - Tom Petty - Bob Dylan.

They used pseudonyms on their albums, 

Harrison became Nelson, Lynne was Otis, Orbison was Lefty, Dylan was known as Lucky and Petty was Charlie T. Wilbury Jr. The name was created by using the term Harrison and Lynne used to refer to studio equipment.

Orbison died after volume 1. Volume 3 they went under the names Spike, Clayton, Muddy, and Boo respectively.
