CCEE Play 4 Ways

Maryann  is here again with this weeks challenge for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Here is what she has for us this week.

 on making a four way card.

I must honestly say that I don't naturally go towards fancy fold cards, so it is usually only as a challenge that I give them a try.  This one really was quite easy but can't say I will make another one.  I know, I know.....I am stuck in a rut.....LOL!!!!!!

 

I used a  background plaid stamp from JustRite, the birthday sentiment from MFT, the main image and main sentiment are from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.

CCEEers Go Plaid for the Guys

 

Anne is our April hostess for the CCEE Challenge.  Here is her challenge for this week.....

 

Create a masculine card using plaid in some way.

 

I used a Sweet 'N Sassy image along with a sassy sentiment stamp.  The plaid was created with a JustRite Designs background stamp.  I added some triple piercing on the sidesk.

Crazies Go Crazy for PURPLE

Welcome to another Crazy4Challenges challenge. Frances is back with our final challenge of the month..... didn't this month fly by quickly!

Before we get onto this week's challenge we would like to thank Sandy Diller for being our Guest Designer for March, we have loved having her play with us this month.

Here is Frances's challenge for the week.
 

According to the Days of the Year web site the 26th March is Purple Day.  Purple Day is a celebration aimed at raising worldwide awareness of epilepsy, a condition that affects over 65 million people globally. For our challenge this week include the color purple in your creations.

I used the Sketch Challenge sketch from this week as the design for my card.  I didn't have time to play this week.  I used a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms for the flower.  I added a bit of bling and some twine.  I made the horizontal layer by punching a MS punch on both sides.  I also did a bit of paper piercing (as usual).....

Crazy for Sketches

 

It is the third Saturday of the month, so the Crazy4Challenges stampers are playing with a sketch this week.

 

 

I used a floral stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms.  The sentiment is from MFT (I think).  I think the rest of the creative process is self explanatory.

Hello Crazy 4 Challenges Fans!! Glad you came by for this week's challenge!

Of course tomorrow is the sweetest of sweetest days of the year. I am sure we will be seeing a lot of pinks and reds. The challenge today is to make a monochromatic card using pinks and/or reds.

 

I went with a much used stamp from SU.  I just love its boldness and simplicity.  the bloom was heat embossed with red embossing powder.  The sentiment was heat embossed in black and is from a JustRite Papercrafts set.  I created the frame with a pierced rectangle die from MFT.

Crazies Play with the Sketch

I, Joanne/jojot, am the hostess for the Crazy4Chalenges DT in November.  Since this is our third challenge of the month, it is a sketch challenge.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch and kept it simple, using designer papers for two of the elements.  I added a simple Penny Black stamp and sentiment.  I added piercing and brads.  The image panel was die cut with a Spellbinders die.

Crazies Think Vacation

Hi everyone,

It's the last Saturday of the month, which means our challenge hostess,  Barb,  has one last challenge for the Crazy4Challenges DT this month.

  

Here is this week's challenge ......

School is about out and vacations are either planned or being planned. What would be your ideal vacation spot? Beach, mountains, backyard? Whatever your destination is, let's create a card or project using it as your inspiration.

My card is clean and simple, but it does depict an actual place I will be visiting several times this summer.  It is Cape  Neddick Light, better known as Nubble Light, which is in York, Maine.  Friends and I have been taking a trip to this area for over 45 years.  (Yep.......I am that old!!!!!)  This place is one of my absolute favorite three places I have visited in the world......along with Aruba and Japan (well....and Myrtle Beach, too)!!!  Being near the ocean is important to me, as you can see from my favorite places.  I think it was nurtured in my youth when our family would venture on the weekends to Misquamicut Beach in nearby Rhode Island.  The whole family --sister, brother, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles--would go and our blankets and umbrellas would take up quite a large area of the beach.

This stamp of Nubble is from Repeat Impressions.  The sentiment, I think, is by Hero Arts.

The Crazies Get Sketchie

It's the third Saturday of the month which means that it is Sketch Challenge week. Barb, our Crazy4Challenges hostess for May, has designed a fun sketch for us to play with :)

I went monochromatic this week.  I heat embossed this silhouette bloom imageand sentiment and dry embossed the back panel.  I added a horizontal panel of lace and some pearls.  Kept it pretty easy.   I used a Marvy corner rounder and SU circle punches.

Sketch Week with the Crazies

 

Sorry for the very muddy photo....it has been one of those weeks.

It is the third challenge of the month for the Crazy4Challenges DT so it is a sketch.  I was unable to grab the sketch this week so be sure to go to the Crazies Blog to see the sketch AND the fab creations by the rest of the team.

Since the sketch was a simple one, I decided to make a sympathy card for my stash.  Sadly, I seem to use a lot more of these lately.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the upper border on the horizontal panel.  I used a Hero Arts sentiment stamp and a Kaiserdraft stamp for the image.  In the bkgd., which does not show in this muddy picture, I used an Impression Obsession background stamp ofo clouds.

Crazies Inspiration

 

The Crazy4Challenges DT were given this picture of a spanking new craft area as our inspiration.  Peggy, our hostess for January, asked us to use whatever item came to mind when looking at the photo (along with any inks and stamps).  Well, this picture made me think of all the organizing I really need to do in the new year.  AND......my collection of dies would be the first thing I would tackle.  Therefore, I used dies on my card along with a Penny Black flower and leaves.

This card will be added to my all occasion gift stash of cards I am building up.  The dies I used are from Paper Smooches and were bought with a gift certificate a fabulous fellow stamper sent me for Christmas.

CCEE Sympathy Creations

This week  is the 20th anniversary of Vicky's mom's passing.  In her honor she asked the CCEEers to make sympathy cards this week.

I went a bit abstrace tis week, using a 'branchy' stencil on tan cardstock.  I sponged with a deeper brown ink so the 'brances' would show in different degrees.  I did this as I really wanted to make a masculine sympathy card.  After doing the sponging, I overstamped the whole panel with a linen background stamp, but I don't think that really shows here in the pic.  (At least MY sick peepers don't see it in the picture.)

The sentiment is from a Hero Arts sentiment set.

Uniique Photo Creations by the CCEE

Maryann, our CCEE Stampers hostess for November, asked us to use photos in some way on our cards.  I immediately went to photos I have of my two of my three favorite places to vacation......Maine and Aruba.

The first a birthday card I created by printiing a picture of Nubble Light in York, Maine on cardstock using the sepia tones.  I kept it simple and neutral in tones as this is a masculine birthday card for a friend.

On the second, I used pictures of a divi tree and one of a palm covered table on the beach.  The glasses shown are a rubber stamp which I heat embossed and then cut out.  I then sized the pictures to fit in the glass lenses.  It didn't come out quite as cute as I thought it would.....it seems to need a 'nose' to fill in the empty area between the glasses and the sentiment.  Maybe I should have put a mustache......thinking of a previous challenge this month.....lol!!!

'Mustache' You to Play with the Crazies

Frances is the hostess for the Crazy4Challenges DT for November.  She gave us this challenge.

Let’s Celebrate “Movember” by including a mustache somehow on your cards … big or small all mustaches are welcome! It can be Mustaches on your images, designer paper, die cut whatever as long as there is a mustache somewhere on your card/product ... hint if you get stuck Santa has a mustache ;).

Well....I happened to have a virgin Mustache set sitting them waiting to be used.  It is by The Craft's Meow.

The CCEE Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our hostesses for the CCEE, Lynn and Liz, have asked us to make a pink card in its honor.  They added a second challenge, which was to send this card to a breast cancer survivor.  Unfortunately, there are many among us who fit that definition.  I visit an oncology practice each month as they also have hematologists in their practice which is what I need.  It always amazes me just how many people are dealing with cancer in their lives. 

I used a Penny Black image with a Stampin Up sentiment.  I just love this sentiment about HOPE.

Crazy4Challenges and Animals

Helen is the Crazy4Challenges hostess for August, and this week she asked us to use at least one animal on our cards/projects.  She added the twist of NO Bears or Bunnies!!!

I went with a pig.......this is from an old SU stamp set.  In real life, this is pretty in pink, but when I tried to get rid of the '"muddiness' of the photo it changed into a hot, hot. hot pink, so I left it muddy as the color is more true to life.

The Crazies Play with a Sketch

The Crazy4Challenges challenge this week is a sketch.  You can see the original sketch on the blog.

I did lots of punching and stenciliing.  The only stamping was the sentiment.  The upper punch piece was done with a Memory Box die, the punchwork on the center panel was done with an anywhere punch by Martha Stewart.  The background was done with a snowflake stencil which I colored only on one side of the background.  I used my Copics to color some white brads to match my background and base. 

This sketch really baffled me at first, but I must say that I do like the way this card finally turned out and I even stayed totally true to the sketch.  Guess that is why this is called a 'challenge', eh????

CCEE......The Color of Money

Anne is our June hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  The first Monday in June is Bank Holiday in Ireland, the home of one of our DT members.  She has asked us to make a card using cash, coins, or the color of money......green.  I originally thought I would be making an Asian card this week as I 'knew' I had some Chinese coin buttons..........unfortunately I could not put my hands on them.....so a new direction!!!!!  I used one of my old shadow stamps to create the background and added some piercing.  I then stamped this wonderful image, part of a set called Hummingbird, from Clear Stamps.

The Crazies and May Flowers

Barbara gave us a simple challenge to start off the month of May.  She asked the Crazy4Challenges DT to use flowers on our creations.  I decided to use this die cut flower I haven't used for a while.  I kept it all pretty simple.  I used a stamped image by Impression Obsession and a SU sentiment (I think).  I used Spellbinders die to make my 'window' and a sizzix  die for the flower.

The Crazies Do Their Own Thing

The Crazy4Challenges DT was given an easy challenge by this month's hostess.  This week we were asked to make anything of our own choice.  I decided to use this silhouetted image by I Brake for Stamps along with a backgrounder by SU.  I went monochromatic with touches of black.  I added some Old Olive ribbon along with a circle sentiment panel.  Along with paper piercing and a few brads, that pretty much wraps up the process.
