Crazies Go to School

Jessie is our hostess for August.  Here is her challenge for the Crazy4Challenge team AND YOU for this week

 It’s back to school time, so make a treat for your kid going back to school, a present for their teacher, or anything back to school related.

I used a tiny set from Studio 112 to create this CAS/one layer card.  I finished the edges with a frame embossing folder, after coloring the apple.  Must say my Misti came in handy to get a crisp and very black image/sentiment print.

The CCEE Stampers Go Back to School.......

Well......that is not completely true.......I am NOT going back to school, but I will be attending my 9th First Day of School Breakfast for Retired Teachers that we have each year.  It is a great day when all of the retired teachers gather to celebrate that we are NOT going back to school.  Sounds terrible, doesn't it.......but most of us put in 35 or more years of teaching, and are now onto new and less demanding adventures now.  (I find it amazing that this will mark the start of my NINTH year of retirement.  Time has truly flown by.

Not much stamping here......The sentiment is all the stamping I had to do and it is an SU stamp.  The rest of it is designer paper from DCWV.  The scissors are buttons.  I cut the shank off and glued them as 'decor' on my card.

Going Back to School......NOT!!!!

The Crazy4Challenges team was asked to create BACK TO SCHOOL cards/projects.....anything related to that topic.  Well, in years past, as a middle school teacher, this time of year was very hectic, full of excitement AND anxiety.......would this be a GREAT year or one of those that were uber-challenging.  HOWEVER, now, after 35 years with middle schoolers) it is a calm time, as I am RETIRED.........actually this school year will begin my 8th year of retirement.  Time has just flown by.......

This card was an easy-peasy one, as the only stamping was the sentiment....actually a b'day one from MFT.....but one I though was also perfect for back to school.  The rest of the card was made from designer paper with a school theme.  CAS for sure.

To those of you who are educators, I wish you a new school year with responsible, enthusiastic, and fun students, cooperative and caring parents, and an administration with ethics and expectations that support you in your classroom/endeavors.

The Crazies Are Honoring Teachers

Welcome to the first August Crazy4Challenges challenge.  Our hostess this month is Silke and she is thinking about school as her girls head back soon.  She asked us to create a card/project for a teacher.  I happen to be a retired teacher (six years already), and, after spending 35 years in the middle school population, this challenge was a piece of cake.  I just had to imagine a card I would love to receive (and on occasion have received) from students.

I used a Pure Innocence image and sentiment from MFT along with some text dp.  The rest just kind of happened.

The Crazies Are Thinkin' School!!!

Barbara is our Crazy4Challenges hostess with the mostest for the month of September.  Since September usually means the start of school, we were to relate our cards to that subject.  I used a set by Flourishes to complet my card, along with punches from EK Success.  My Nesties were used for the image and its frame, and my Marvy scallop and regular corner rounders did the corners.  I added pearls, piercing and a bow/ribbon.  Including these three items also makes this card eligible for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge, which was a BINGO challenge.

This second card is one I did for the Speedy's Friends Challenge this week which was to use bling.  I used the poppies set from Mark's Finest Papers.  This will be another in my stash going to a friend's daughter's women's ministry.

Sad to say that many of my friends are still without power after Hurricane Irene.  For a storm that really had gone down to strong tropical storm status for part of the time it was here, it surely has left our state (and others) in a real mess.  Schools have missed 5 days of school and it is still not guaranteed to start on Tuesday.  Not a great way to start a school year!!!  And again, I must say that the people of New Jersey and Vermont are in my prayers......they had such terrible flooding from the hurricane.
