A New Baby and a Society6 Update

Image
I mentioned in my last blog post that I'll soon be bringing news of new beginnings. Well here he is! Little Ted is the newest member of the family, Middle Son's new baby son came into the world on Saturday, a bouncing 8lbs. Why do we say 'bouncing'? New babies don't bounce, or maybe they do? I hope to be able to meet him in person as soon as they get home from hospital. 😊 So, the last days of summer are upon us and my thoughts are turning to a reorganisation of my online shops. I've been with Society6 for the past few years but now I feel it's time for a change. I love seeing my designs on different items and I've even bought my own items from them to give as gifts or to keep for myself but now that I've discovered Redbubble I personally prefer it and that's the reason I've decided to close my shop at Society6 . It is still open at the moment and will stay open until 18th September so if you'd like to buy an item from my Society...

Silver Strands

First of all an apology to those of you I've confused with my new blog. I've decided to return to this one as it's the one you all know (and hopefully love !) Normal posting will resume here and I'm planning to post much more regularly than I have in the past. So what have I been up to?  At the weekend we found ourselves near Castle Combe .  It's a very pretty village in south of the cotswolds in Wiltshire and has been used as a film location for various films: Doctor Doolittle, Warhorse and one of my favourite films, Stardust. A path in the churchyard led us to the very beautiful hotel there, the Manor House Hotel. This picture shows just a small section of the building. I love the rooftops with all their finials and gables. There's something about old rooftops that intrigues me, no idea why but I could stare at them for ages. Back at home I've been continuing with my morning doodles,  this one is based on the image ...

The Evolution of a Painting

Image
I'm very happy to say that I've finished the painting I've been working on over the past few weeks, yay!  Sometimes a painting can take so long that I imagine it'll never reach the end! This one was made during some challenging personal times and maybe that's one of the reasons it took me so long to finish. The strange thing is, that throughout the making of it I kept on thinking of the word 'peachy' and although I felt far from peachy, I decided it would make a nice title for it so I've decided to call it 'Feeling Peachy'! Here's what it looked like at the very beginning, acombination of collage papers and acrylic paint. I fell in love with that beautiful patch of orange quite quickly and my feelings didn't change as you will see! I painted the sky mauve and the beginnings of buildings and trees were appearing. Here's a close-up showing the house I painted, a stage further than the last picture, it looked li...

Choices Galore

Thankyou SO MUCH for your very helpful suggestions in my last post. You are all so amazing and very much appreciated! I'll have a renewed energy with my next painting. :) I hope you've had a lovely weekend. I've had a busy time, what with trying to clear the bottom of our garden which has turned into a mini woodland. This sounds nice doesn't it? but with young trees underneath the weight of a soggy heavy fence, growing sideways across the ground in a desperate attempt to survive, there is a lot more work to be done! Messy isn't it?! I've also been busy adding new items to my Society6 shop . Would you like to see a few of them?  I have lots of mug designs, please click here to see more :) and tote bags, please click here to see them :)     There are lots of different phone skins and case designs. and wall-clocks, please click here  to see :) My designs can also be bought as greetings cards or prints , ...

Sparkly New Paintings

Image
Evening Peace, acrylic on canvas board. Gosh! After that very unusual post from yesterday, I'm pleased to see you still here! Let me show you  my new artwork. Glittering Stars, acrylic on canvas board. I love sparkly things don't you? I had a lot of fun adding the shiny gold to these two new paintings. You can't really tell from the photo above but  if they're held towards the light, they sparkle!  Each one measures 7 x 10 inches and I've listed the originals on  Etsy at £40. That's roughly about $66 to my USA friends. I do worldwide shipping and any currency is taken. :) If you'd like these designs on a mug or a cushion (pillow), or maybe a tote bag or a phone case? Here's a screenshot of my Society6 shop . Please pop over and have a look. :) You can even get this one as a clock! So which one would you choose? :) Thankyou for looking! xx

Watercolour Designs and my New Shop

Image
Thankyou for your kind comments on my last post, it seems that I'm not alone in loving lots of colour! Yarn, paint, pencils, you name it, I can't get enough! You might remember from a previous post that I hunted for a long time looking for nice colourful cushions (pillows) and it was the online shop Society6 where I eventually found the perfect ones for me! This gave me the idea of starting up my own shop on the site with just a few of my designs to begin with. I'd like to show you some of the items I'm selling. At the top of the post you can see my watercolour painting appearing as a cushion! It's also available as... I quite like how my Buddha sits quite nicely on the phone case. :) T-shirts for big people... and little people... Here are a few examples of my mug designs... and tote bags... It's so fun seeing my paintings appear on different items! The ones I've pictured here are only a few of the designs, there ar...

Hunting For Brightly Coloured Cushions

Image
Hello new followers  ♥ thankyou for following my blog, it's lovely to have you join me here on my arty journey. Thankyou for all the comments I get here too, I aim to follow each of your links in the comments back to your blogs to return your visit and to see who you are! Please forgive any delay, life is busy and my computer is sometimes a bit temperamental. I love to find new blog friends that share my interests. xx You can see in the picture above I have finished my latest knitting project. You can read more details on Ravelry here if you are so inclined. :) I've spent a long time looking for cushions.(I think my US friends call them pillows?)  Every time I go into town or into any big store I have to look to see if there's anything that fits my fantasy of the perfect cushion. I have a motly collection of ones that I've bought in the past because they've been really cheap and the colour's been 'ok' but I have a fantasy of something bright a...
